Our first impressions of this firm was fantastic. The level of care, attention to detail and customer service delivered by Lewis Rabbani was the reason we chose to go with GD Legal as FTBs. Due to some unforeseen circumstances our Solicitor was changed during the final stages of our purchase which caused us panic and concern on whether we would complete in time. Amy Konig took over our file and she was incredible. Under very short notice she was able to fast tack some further enquiries and exchange contracts so that we could keep our completion date. She worked very well under time restriction, had very good communication, and dealt with everything with grace. Her professionalism and ability to adapt to changes so seamlessly is the reason I’d recommend her. Thanks Amy! You truly made our FTB experience as stress-free as possible.

Do not use, I was on my 2nd agent, charged significantly more than they quoted for both my sale and purchase, then asked for more money or they wouldn't register my property, I will be taking this further and will never use them again, poor communication, unprofessional, never informed me of any increases

I'd like to thank Nisha Varsani for making the completion of the sale of this property so smooth and trouble-free. The property owner passed away during the transaction and a Grant of Probate was required to finalise the sale. Nisha took everything in her stride.

I and my husband bought a property through GD Solicitors in June 2024, and it has been an absolute nightmare from start to finish. My husband left a review two weeks ago explaining our appalling experience with them, and since then nothing has changed.

GD Solicitors publicly replied to his review asking us to “contact the client care team” — which we have done several times. The reality? You get placed on hold for hours and nobody ever answers. Not a single call has been returned.

Land Registry Issue
For the past year, we have been chasing GD Solicitors for an update on the Land Registry status. After constant follow-ups, we were told they were still waiting for information from the seller’s solicitor. However, when we contacted the seller’s solicitor directly, they confirmed they had sent all the necessary paperwork over a year ago. This means GD Solicitors either lied or lost critical documents. As a result, we are still living in a house that is not legally in our name.

The firm has also withheld a portion of our sale proceeds. We provided all the documentation they requested to release the funds, yet the money has still not been returned.

Our Verdict
This is not “slow service” — it is a complete failure of professional duty. GD Solicitors were entrusted with one of the most important transactions of our lives, and they have left us with an unresolved legal and financial mess that has caused immense stress for over a year.

Don’t be fooled by the other positive reviews like us — our case was a disaster. We are now escalating this matter to the Consumer Department and considering legal action. If GD Solicitors genuinely care about their clients, they must stop hiding behind unanswered phone lines and resolve both the Land Registry issue and the release of our funds immediately.

To anyone reading this — my strongest advice is simple: stay away from GD Solicitors.

Where shall I begin? Absolutely unprofessional firm. The buyer of our house is using GD currently. They have delayed and stalled getting back to my solicitor for weeks. We started the whole process back in April and we still have no timeline on when we can complete because of multiple delays on their side. They don't reply to phone calls or emails. I am surprised they get any cases completed. The person responsible for our house exchange suddenly left one day and the buyer of my property wasnt even informed this had happened. The person who took over has taken weeks to review the file when it was a 2 day job max! The previous fee earner did all the work and so why it would take this long to review a file is beyind me. All in all they are a nightmare to get through to, dont do things they say they will do and you have to constantly chase them. Unprofessional and no duty of care towards their clients. DON'T USE THEM.

A massive thank you to Myisha and Nisha for doing our first ever house purchase. As first time buyers they kept us informed on everything we needed to know. Everything ran smoothly on our part and they provided constant updates and were always available and happy to answer any questions we had. Could not recommend this company more for anyone buying/selling a property!

I had Hosai handling my conveyancing case and I couldn’t have had a more pleasant, easy and smooth experience from start to finish. Hosai is efficient, helpful and most kind, especially when I had made a mistake regarding completion dates. She did everything she could to support me and it was all sorted in the end and I really appreciated her patience with me. At no point was I left wondering what was going on and Hosai always responded promptly to any query or general correspondence. Thank you ☺️

I recently completed my first property purchase and used GD as my conveyancer. Nisha was amazing throughout the whole process and answered every query that I had and did everything she could to speed the process up. I will definitely use GD for any future purchases, and recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable conveyancer.

My experience with GD Legal was incredibly frustrating. From the outset, the process was marred by poor communication and timeliness. I often had to chase for responses to emails, and even after raising a formal complaint, to Myisha, about the lack of updates, the promised timelines were not adhered to. Despite claims of improvements, I still received no responses from Myisha when I asked for clarification on promised updates.

They charge excessively for every step, including extra fees for a failed completion (due to the other side’s issues) and a last-minute, same-day exchange and completion, which I was never properly informed about. They operate much like a low-cost airline – cutting corners and charging for every little thing. If you choose to go with GD Legal, prepare for your quote and final bill to be completely different and significantly more.

The initial stages of the sale process were quick and efficient, but once assigned a "fee earner", it felt like customer service took a backseat. I had to chase Nisha constantly, and after completion, I was left waiting for days with no updates when funds were incorrectly transferred. It took four days and several unanswered calls and emails before the matter was resolved and even then, I didn't receive an update.

Additionally, their handling of Help to Buy was slow – it took them four months to chase up a response, further delaying things. They also seemed to have knowledge gaps about LABC and Help to Buy, which added to the confusion and delays. I received requests for publicly available documents and any questions I raised on this were ignored, with a similar worded request being parroted back.

Overall, I would not recommend their services if you’re looking for reliable, transparent, and timely legal support.

We've had a wonderful experience buying our first home. Khurram was excellent!! Always replied to our messages the same day, always answered our calls and answered every question we had, no matter how small.

Khurram was such a pleasure to talk to, checking how the kids were too! He went above and beyond and would definitely recommend him to anyone buying a home. I felt reassured and in good hands throughout the whole experience.

Avoid GD Solicitors – Our Worst Experience with a Law Firm

My wife and I used GD Solicitors in June 2024 for both the sale and purchase of properties, and it has been an absolute nightmare from start to finish.

Buying Side:
The solicitor originally assigned to us was completely ineffective, and throughout the process, the firm changed our solicitor at least four times without informing us. Communication was non-existent — none of the solicitors were ever available to speak on the phone. The buying process took over three months to complete, and even now, more than a year later, it’s still not fully done.

For the past year, I have been chasing GD Solicitors for an update on the Land Registry status. Selling Side:
To be fair, our solicitor Shahla was good with communication, but the firm held a portion of our sale proceeds. Despite me providing all the necessary documentation to release it, the money has still not been returned.

Overall, I strongly advise others to stay away from GD Solicitors. The experience has been exhausting, stressful, and frankly unacceptable. What should have been a smooth transaction turned into an ongoing legal mess that we're still dealing with a year later.

I have never experienced a virtual solicitor before and I would certainly never recommend it.From the start, I sent a copy of the deed from when I purchased. Was given a quote which I accepted.I was guided to an app. I had to do all the work. I never had a response from my allocated ( fee earner) actual title.
All through, after completing the multiple questions on the app. The app took me to the exchange date and congratulated me on the sale ( 2 months before).
On completion,I received an email saying , please see attached the receipts for charges and chaps ( nothing there)no response to my request for the receipts.i called the head office, received them 24 hours later.they had charged and additional amount from the original quote ( no explanation) what an absolute shambles.

We've used this conveyancing service on several occasions. The last 2 were handled by Nisha, who was avaliable to answer the phone and kept us updated.

Avoid GD Legal or use them at your peril! If I could rate less than 1 star, I would.
As with many others who have written reviews, I was initially quoted a reasonable fee, but they unexpectedly presented me with a substantial increase when the final bill was presented, without prior written warning of any kind. This was despite their written quote stating that they would give me written notice of any increases.
Khurram Khan, the fee earner, displayed a surprising lack of basic legal knowledge—I had to correct several of his mistakes myself. His lack of attention to my case, constant shifting of blame onto others, and general inefficiency led to both the buyer and me being forced to pay more stamp duty.
When I requested clarification, my inquiries were ignored. The estate agent I used had a similar experience when seeking clarity during the conveyancing process.
When I requested an explanation from a manager, it took more than 6 weeks to receive a response. I was fobbed off with the explanation that my property "required further legal investigation and documentation beyond the standard scope of work". It appears that the business model of this company is to lure in unsuspecting victims with unrealistic quotes and then add on further fees when the final account is submitted.
Their conduct was extremely unprofessional, and I bitterly regret choosing their services.

I had a great experience with GD Property Solicitors. I made an initial enquiry and within just 15 minutes, I received an email with a detailed quotation followed by a call to explain the services and understand my needs. I was really impressed by how quick and professional the response was.

Throughout the entire sale process, the team was consistently responsive and efficient. Every time I had a question or needed clarification, they got back to me promptly and ensured I felt informed and satisfied.

This firm has significantly delayed our house move. They are acting for the purchaser of my property. Communication is extremely poor, the lack of responses is frustrating and have led to the whole chain having to change the plans agreed. Emails and telephone messages from our solicitor, the estate agents and even their client have been ignored, James has shown a clear lack of quality in his service. If you could pull your finger out and take part in this process it would be really helpful James.
Updated 2nd July- despite the response on my public review we are no further forward. The lack of engagement is shocking. The whole chain is waiting for this one man to respond to emails and as a result is ultimately going to end up dictating our moving date based on his workload rather than the needs of the chain. DO NOT USE THOSE COMPANY THEY ARE SHOCKING!
