Nafees, our purchase conveyancer was a pleasure to deal with and his communications improved throughout the process. He was generally ahead of our vendor's conveyancer and pulled out all the stops to complete by midday. Well done Nafees ******* .
However, from the start things were awkward as we were allotted different case handlers for sale and purchase which made communication difficult. Our first sale handler left the firm after a few weeks and was replaced by Clare who was much more experienced and pulled things together.
Their latest "improvement" is an online app for the initial enquiries and id checks and it is truly awful and almost impossible to use. This was our 4th time with GD and it will probably be the last because of this.

I found GD Property through Google. After submitting an enquiry on their website, they promptly called me to understand my requirements. Conveyancer Jieyi Xie handled my file, and she was absolutely brilliant.

As a first-time buyer, I had many questions, and several issues came up during the investigation process. Jieyi was always patient, explained everything clearly, and managed the file exceptionally well. I would highly recommend their services.

I contacted GD Property Solicitors because I was selling my property and needed a solicitor, I have never done this before so really didn’t know what I was doing. I spoke to Nisha in the very early stages and we seemed to hit it off immediately. I received correspondence very quickly with a price quoted in it although the final bill seems to be about £100 more than the original quote and then of course there is VAT. Throughout the whole process from start to finish has been very organised and Nisha was there on the end of the phone or the message facility when I had a question about anything, her whole team are extremely professional and I would have no hesitation in recommending the company to anyone

I instructed GD solicitors during the final stages of the process of my ex partner buying me out of our joint property to receive the funds on my behalf. After months of delays from my ex partner's solicitors, GD solicitors sped the process up and acted in an extremely timely manner. Nivies was in regular contact with me and ensured the matter was dealt with urgently. Thank you!

Haroon was excellent and he ensured that I am able to complete on the chosen day. He chased stuff which could otherwise have delayed my sale.

Avoid GD Legal at all costs. I was quoted a reasonable fee, but at the end they dropped a huge, unexpected final bill on me with no warning or breakdown. Dante, the fee earner, showed a shocking lack of basic legal knowledge — I had to correct multiple errors myself. He even sent key info without asking me, risking the deal. When I asked for clarity, I was ignored. This felt more like a trap than legal help. Deeply unprofessional. I regret ever using them.

Extra fees and total chaos . We used them for our house move .They use an automated system that is useless . It’s supposed to keep the customer informed of progress but didn’t work . The solicitor assigned left the week before completion leaving other members of staff to salvage the situation and delayed the exchange .
And to make matters worse they stuck a load of extra fees on the original quote . They messed up and I got charged for it

Their equivalent of the Law Society legal forms are impossible to complete accurately. You are forced to answer questions that are not applicable as they have been set up as compulsory questions. Other questions are set up as Yes or Not Known not Yes or No. Did anybody test these forms before inflicting them on their poor clients? These are legal documents and I am being asked to fudge my answers to suit your poorly set up forms. Emails are not responded to promptly, ones that are answered must take seconds as no thought goes into the response, direct dial numbers not answered, even the main phone number is not answered the many times I tried this week, after holding on you get a message telling you to email your details, case number etc. I used that same email asking for a copy of their complaints policy and had no reply in a week. During all of this I did another quote online for my own property, as a way to actually get through to them and to prove a point, I received a callback within 5 mins. That is where they excel, very attentive when signing you up, caseworker calls and emails to introduce themselves then it all goes down hill very quickly. Eventually spoke to the Conveyancing Manager who was not interested in listening to me, I wanted to go through all the questions I had issue with, she said she was too busy and my caseworker would answer, my complaint was he was not answering. In the caseworkers defence he did not design the forms, but he was obviously out of his depth. When I got annoyed with the conveyancing manager refusing to discuss my issues as she said she was too busy, she hung up on me. Then she sends an email offering for me to discuss next week if I wanted but warning me on my behaviour. Also if I wanted to discuss the problems I was having with their poorly set up forms with the person dealing with my sale, this would be additional work and I would be charged for this. I found this response hilarious. Any good manager with an ounce of customer service skills would have said, I need time to look at the correspondence and can I arrange a time to get back to you on this, instead of I am too busy. And also check her facts before emailing. I have many valid points on their forms, but they are not interested in a customers perspective. I have no desire to enter into months of trying to communicate with this company so I have made the sensible decision to find a new solicitor. My advice is safe yourself the extra stress and don’t bother in the first place.
