Good all round service ABC

After being let down and provided an extortionate price by another company I chose to use Hippo. I received a great big bag and filled it with garden clay, rocks etc. from my newly dug pond and flowerbeds. They came to collect it and job was done! No issues or hidden costs due to weight of load. I didn’t actually have to be there so no waiting in for someone to come. A very easy process and excellent price. I wish I’d gone straight to them because it would have cut out a lot of unnecessary stress!!

I received the bag the day after I'd ordered it, i filled and requested the collection. The whole process was quick and easy as well as being prompt.

I was able to buy the bag at b&q kept it for a while until I had the time and the weather was a bit cooler to fill it. Took all that I wanted to dispose of.
Better than a skip sitting on my drive taking up parking space,and potentially damaging my drive
I booked it to be collected online paid, simple process, and it was picked up the next day excellent service.

I have had a few hippo bags and they are so convenient I can fill them at my own leisure and they are collected within a few days which unlike a skip you have to arrange and can wait a couple of weeks which by that time other people add to. I would 100% recommend. I can fit it in my garden which means I don't need a permit unlike a skip absolutely brilliant service.

Initial delivery of the hippo bag was very quick but collection did take the full 5 working days which was a bit disappointing. We also had no information about when collection would be so had to leave our cars out of the way of the bag for a week.

At the most basic level, their service doesn’t notify you the day before a collection, unless you happen to say “yes” to the question “Do you need to be present for your collection (e.g. due to a locked gate or to provide access)?”, which has nothing to do with actually knowing when they’re coming.

Expecting customers to leave a massive bag on their driveway for 3 to 5 business days, with no time window given, is unrealistic and out of touch.

I did resolve this with support the first time. Since I hadn’t expected the pickup, I hadn’t moved the bag to a proper spot, which was fair enough, and I paid an extra fee to reschedule.

But this time, when I got the message saying the bag would be picked up today (again, no time window), I moved it to the best possible location, which meant blocking my own driveway for the entire day. They didn’t even show up.

So now I’m £300 down and still stuck with a driveway full of stuff.

The bag arrives in the post.
Then I fill it up.
Contact Hippo, give them the collection code.
Then Hippo let me know when the bag is going to be collected.

More convenient than skip hire and good value when on promotion. I like that the hippo bag can be placed exactly where you need it. Arranging collection is easy too.

Ordering the right bag was easy on the website. I was redoing a bathroom, and ordered a medium bag and collection. It is clear on the website which size bag I needed.
The fact that it said that most of the waste would be recycled was very positive for me.
The bag was delivered quickly, with clear instructions on where to place it. I had a query about plasterboard and the person i spoke to gave clear advice.
Once ready, I booked the collection, and the bag was collected after 3 days, within the time frame of 3 -5 days Hippo stated. No need to be home.

Very flexible and convenient way of disposing of waste, quite expensive although other options (skip, man and van) also seem expensive.

I have just had a hippo skip bag and the drop off and pick up was fantastic. Got everything in this bag and more. Would absolutely use this company again.

Brilliant service from start to finish. Support was very helpful to also make me understand what can go in and how to dispose of items safely. Collection was incredibly swift. I will definitely we using this service again.
