Absolute timeless quality. These pots become friends for life and a great contrast to the disposable culture in everything else we buy. Worth every penny and a genuine long term investment.

Overpriced and very low quality

Overpriced, bad quality!
I was so excited when I received a pretty heart print (white base) Le Creuset mug as a present from a friend. Sadly after just a couple of use I noticed scratch marks inside the cup. The only thing I put in the mug is a tea bag and a spoon to stir. If those leave marks then it’s clear the item is an incredibly low quality one! Very disappointed! I sent a message to the company through their website about 2 weeks ago but never received any response. These mugs cost £20!!! I can’t even complain to my friend as it was a present but I know for sure I would never buy Le Creuset products, waste of money!!

Gutted to be leaving this review

Gutted to be leaving this review.

I bought a gorgeous countertop kettle a few years ago. At over £100 a piece, with a warranty and Le Creuset's reputation for quality, I thought I was buying a kettle for life.

Incorrect. I recently noticed the water becoming brown. The kettle had been rusting inside, and was no longer useable.

I was relieved to see it was still in warranty. Unfortunately, having been in touch with Le Creuset, this has happened due to 'thermal shock', and therefore isn't covered. I'll include the comms below so you can judge for yourself. After this email, they did offer 30% off... but since you can find their kettles through third parties cheaper than that anyway, it doesn't feel like a great solution.

And hesitant to spend that much on a kettle that isn't for life in the end.

--
Their explanation:
Thank you for providing the images of your kettle.
Le Creuset offers a 5 year guarantee on its stovetop kettles. The guarantee covers defects in materials or manufacturing for 5 years when the product is used in normal, domestic conditions and in accordance with the care and use instructions provided. It does not cover normal wear and tear, commercial use or misuse of the product.

Guarantee | Le Creuset UK
Having carefully reviewed the photographs, we can see crazing lines across the enamel, along with areas of enamel loss around the exterior base and coating loss on the inside of the kettle.
The damage shown is consistent with thermal shock, which can occur when the kettle experiences a sudden or significant change in temperature, such as cold water being added to a hot kettle or being boiled dry. Over time, this can cause the enamel to craze and weaken, eventually resulting in areas of the coating becoming damaged or coming away.
Where the internal coating has been lost, the underlying metal can become exposed. If moisture is left sitting on these exposed areas, surface rust can then develop, which explains the rusting you have experienced when the kettle is left wet.
Unfortunately, damage caused by thermal shock is not considered a manufacturing or material fault and would therefore not be covered under the guarantee.
We appreciate this may be disappointing and are sorry that we are unable to offer a replacement on this occasion.

Excellent Products and the most amazing customer service!

Le Creuset makes amazing products, and I’ve been a big fan of the brand for a long time. However, what makes it truly special isn’t just the quality of its products, but also its outstanding customer service. Every time I’ve needed their help, the team has been absolutely fantastic, friendly, and helpful. This is exactly what makes Le Creuset such a great brand.

Thank you, Le Creuset! You’ve definitely reinforced my confidence in the brand.

Le Creuset v Amazon standoff, with me in the middle!

I recently bought a Le Creuset Stoneware Cafetière French Press, through Amazon UK during an offer period with the price reduced from £70 to £42. It arrived from Amazon and while the outer packaging (a plain brown cardboard box) was undamaged, the boxed product inside had clearly been subjected to some rough treatment. The lid of the product box had some crumpling and a hole punched through several layers of cardboard by the small knob on the coffee pot lid. The item also had no 'Care and Use Booklet' (required to validate the 10 year product warranty) in the box. Amazon offered a refund, but not a replacement and by this time the price offer had ended and it had returned to £70. The Amazon rep. told me to take the issue up with Le Creuset as it was sold and shipped directly by them, and the damage had obviously been caused on Le Creuset's premises, not in transit. I contacted Le Creuset Customer Services but they refused to help beyond telling me to contact Amazon for them to resolve the problem.
What wonderful service all round!

Disappointing durability and guarantee experience

An expensive wok that seems better suited to decoration

I paid £141.76 for a Le Creuset Toughened Non-Stick 32 cm wok in January 2024. In less than three years, its cooking surface developed extensive brown marking and fine lines. I used wooden or silicone utensils, cleaned it with a normal sponge, and stored it on top of my other pans.

Le Creuset refused my guarantee claim, attributing the marks to overheating and utensil wear. I dispute the utensil claim. They also advised against olive oil and said the wok should generally be used on low to medium heat. I commonly cook at medium-high heat on a ceramic hob, with olive oil. If an expensive wok cannot cope with those ordinary cooking habits without its surface ending up like this, what exactly am I paying a premium for? A wok that must be treated so delicately feels more like a decorative pan than practical cookware.

Food still releases from it, but I am deeply disappointed by its appearance after less than three years and by how little the “lifetime guarantee” helped in my case. I would not buy it again.

I am extremely disappointed with Black Cookware set

I am extremely disappointed with both the quality of the cookware I purchased and the customer service I received from Le Creuset UK.

I purchased a very expensive cookware set, expecting the quality and durability associated with the Le Creuset name. Unfortunately, after a relatively short period of normal use, the cookware deteriorated and, in my opinion, fell well below the standard I would reasonably expect from such an expensive product.

When I contacted customer service, rather than properly addressing my concerns, I felt that I was effectively blamed for the condition and deterioration of the cookware. All I have done is use the products in what I consider to be a normal and reasonable manner.

In my experience, the black cookware set appears to be of poor quality, particularly considering the price paid. What has been equally disappointing is the way my complaint was handled. I found the response from Le Creuset UK rude and, in my opinion, focused more on finding reasons not to replace or resolve the issue than on actually helping a customer.

I have also come across numerous other customers online describing very similar issues with their cookware and reporting similar experiences when dealing with customer service.

For a premium brand, I expected a much higher standard of both product quality and customer care. Unfortunately, this experience has completely changed my view of Le Creuset.

Le Creuset has lost me as a customer for life. I certainly will not be purchasing their products again, and I would think very carefully before recommending them to anyone else.

Doubtful quality, disappointing service

Several years ago, based on the name and their claim of "life long guarantee, we bought a set of 8 different Le Crueset cookware, hoping to enjoy quality, design, practicality and durability.
Unfortunately, it was not meant to be - very soon the coating started peeling off exposing white metal. And yes, we were using correct (silicone or wooden) utensils.
At the beginning of the year I contacted Le Crueset UK customer service for advise or possibility of recoating, with photos provided - within several years four of the pans became unusable. I did not ask for any refund just for advice and for them to know that there was a problem. There was no reply. Only after my second email, the lady replied asking for pictures, dimentions, receipt, the place of purchase, etc, etc. You felt that her priority was not the customer and his need but protecting the brand and the company. Of course, I sent pictures for the second time, but did not keep the receipt of several years - who would - and after numerous emails exchange, I gave up. By now 2 more pans became unusable and to be thrown away. 6 faulty items thrown out of 8 purchased from the company who boast of the quality, durability, putting their customers' need first. !!??
Unfortunately, not in our case.
It's very dissapointing and we shall always stay away from the brand. It's quite sad that you can not trust or believe even the reputable companies.

Outstanding customer service – thank you, Sophie!

I recently had an issue with one of my Le Creuset measuring spoons, where the handle unexpectedly snapped during normal use. I contacted the Le Creuset UK Helpline and was fortunate enough to have my case handled by Sophie Hunt.

From start to finish, Sophie was absolutely fantastic. She was warm, patient, understanding and incredibly professional throughout the whole process. What could easily have become a frustrating customer service experience was handled with genuine care and empathy.

The original set was inspected by Le Creuset and they confirmed that the broken attachment was a product fault, so they arranged a replacement set under the guarantee. I was very grateful that the issue was resolved without any fuss.

The replacement is a newer version and, personally, I preferred the weight and feel of my original set, so I did have some disappointment when I realised that the original design was no longer available. However, what really impressed me was the way Sophie listened to my concerns and acknowledged them rather than simply giving me a standard response. She took the time to explain the situation properly and made me feel that my feedback was genuinely being heard.

Customer service like this makes a real difference. Sophie was an absolute pleasure to deal with and is a real credit to Le Creuset. I felt valued as a customer throughout the process, and I couldn’t have asked for a more courteous, thoughtful and professional person to handle my case.

Thank you, Sophie, for all your help, patience and kindness. It is people like you who make customers remember a company for the right reasons.

A very well-deserved 5 stars for the customer service I received from Sophie and the Le Creuset UK Helpline. ❤️

Misleading "lifetime guarantee" and poor construction

We were gifted and purchased a significant range of non-stick saucepans from Le Creuset for our wedding in 2017. The range boasted a lifetime guarantee, and given the high prices, I was under the illusion they would be indestructible. They were described as "dishwasher safe" - this is something I specifically wanted.

Over the years they have worn terribly. Despite us only using silicone utensils, the combination of a metal lid with a non-stick saucepan has meant that the tops/rims of all our saucepans are severely damaged. We have bits of non-stick surface constantly falling into our food, which makes them now unusable. My parents' saucepans (which are 30 years old) look much better and were much cheaper, despite also being washed in a dishwasher.

I contacted Le Creuset. They described the damage as normal wear and tear, and that it was caused by the "tapping" of utensils on the side of the pans, using too much heat, and dishwasher use. They have not deemed the pans to be improperly manufactured and therefore will not offer any form of refund/replacement under the lifetime guarantee. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.

I was hoping to purchase a new set/get this set replaced with stainless steel Le Creuset saucepans but I will instead be purchasing ProCook saucepans following this experience. I wanted to warn others who were thinking they were buying quality cookware that Le Creuset doesn't seem to be what it once was. I also wanted to warn others that "dishwasher safe" does not actually mean that it can be put in the dishwasher this for this company, and that "lifetime guarantee" also doesn't mean much.
