In December 2020 we started the process of looking to buy our first home and was recommended Octopus Wealth through work. Given the pandemic and the stamp duty holiday this process has been more frustrating that normal and we are finally moving house in January 2022.

The support we have received from Octopus has been first class, as inexperienced house buyers we were weary of the process and yet have been reassured every step along the way: nothing has been too much trouble, no question has been unanswered and everything has been handled with urgency, understanding and professionalism.

We were able to seek advice from everything from negotiating prices to searches and mortgages. Without the support we have received I believe this would have been unmanageable and I thank Ben for his considerable effort. At a time when everything was more stressful I am blessed to have had such excellent advice and support.

Ben was instrumental in helping us understand mortgages. Particularly helpful was that the "cheapest" mortgages over their term (2, 3, 5 years etc...) aren't necessarily those that leave you with the least overall debt.

I spoke to 3 brokers before signing up with Octopus Wealth, I found that Ben provided me clear, transparent and very considerate answers from right beginning in comparison with the others. I am glad I signed up with Ben to proceed, because I was very worried but actually he made the whole process smooth. We completed two mortgages with Ben Kehoe and he couldn’t have been more helpful. He found us great products in unusual circumstances, made the process so efficient and responded rapidly to any correspondence. We never would have been able to get such good mortgages without him.

We are also undergoing financial planning with Simon Cahill. We were originally happy with our previous financial advisor but looked into Octopus as they had slight cheaper fees (which made a big difference in the long run). 1st class service from someone who genuinely cares

Ben has gone way above and beyond what we could possibly expect from an adviser. Faced with a tight deadline and an unbelievably challenging lender Ben has kept us sane by being on top of the development of our case. He was tenacious in driving progress, creative in finding solutions and proactive in his communication throughout. We feel that he genuinely cares and shares our concerns and excitement. The application process through the online portal wias also easy to use. Having been a customer of L&C and Habito we can say with confidence that we are here to stay and would highly recommend to anyone who needs a mortgage.

Mortgage service

As first time buyers we didn't really know what to expect from a Mortgage broker. We spoke to a few different brokers and in the end the decision was easy. Ben from Octopus Wealth was fantastic throughout, always responsive via email and phone and really helpful in guiding us through the process. 10/10

As a first time buyer I didn't really have a clear understanding of the complexity involved in this process and Ben helped to demystify this for me and made getting a mortgage simple.
