Amazon Prime is a SCAM to grab your money

My own heater fan broke down on 12 Jan, so I immediately ordered a new one to replace it. At the checkout, Amazon urged me to sign up again for PRIME for guaranteed delivery the next day. It's cold in here, so I got suckered out of my money, and the fan was not delivered. Now, beside "tracking" (fake tracking while they find a fan to ship) it says delivery 14th OR 15th. That is not Prime. Moreover, while Amazon had grabbed my money promising next-day delivery if I signed up again for Prime, AFTER they pocketed the special delivery fee, they labeled my fan's delivery as "estimated" NOT guaranteed, though I had just paid a Prime fee at their prompting specifically for guaranteed 24-hour delivery.

Amazon literally robbed me for a PRIME payment, then left me freezing without the fan while manipulating their system to pretend I'd be getting 24-hour delivery, with no intention of providing it.

This is the usual lies and manipulations of Amazon. This is why I had previously cancelled so-called "Prime". Because they DO NOT DELIVER next day as promised, you wait for DAYS or longer.

When I realized I was being taken for a ride again by Amazon, I immediately cancelled PRIME on 13 Jan 2026. Amazon STOLE half the Prime payment, refusing to refund the whole thing, while having NOT provided the Prime delivery.

I then phoned Amazon Canada's customer service. A female replied who really didn't seem to give a damn and was just amused that I had been lied to and robbed. She refused to cancel the shipment; she refused to refund the stolen Prime money.

Learn fast, Amazon is not a great place to shop. Check out the competition, there's plenty online. Including Temu and AliExpress, so if you want to wait a long time for something to arrive from China, you can pay a lot less for it if you order direct from China.

Furthermore, in general, for shipments to Montreal, Canada, Amazon uses Intelcom. Intelcom is notorious for tossing the package into the entrance of the apartment block, if not on the cement steps outside, and running away like mad so they don't have to buzz your bell and walk down one flight of stairs to make the actual delivery.

Stay away as Amazon are pure fraudsters…

Stay away as Amazon are pure fraudsters and thieves! I purchased a phone sold and fulfilled by them. The phone disappeared from their inventory after being stuck in a local warehouse. They made every excuse from delays to labor problems not to deliver it. Finally after 1 week they told me it would be 1-2 weeks late in delivery to me! So I cancelled it. Then, a few days later they are refusing my refund! So, Amazon are keeping the phone and my money!!!! Then out of nowhere they now bogusly claim there is "suspicious activity" on my account!!! I just opened it and have had no problems purchasing things except for this nightmare. So, using this bogus excuse they are stealing from me by both keeping my $300 and the phone!!! This is illegal and fraud! I taught in a top Law school and under no circumstances is this anything but outright fraud! Never buy Amazon!!!

Terrible Customer Service – Be Careful!

I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Amazon customer service has been so frustrating that I feel I need to warn others. I ordered a Chemical Guys spray and a cloth, and when it arrived, the bottle was cracked—likely damaged during shipping. Naturally, I contacted Amazon right away. They initially offered a refund, but I asked if it could just be replaced instead. They said yes, and I explained that I wouldn’t be able to return the leaking bottle. I even offered to empty it or clean it if necessary.

Amazon assured me this wouldn’t be a problem, and that I could receive a free replacement without returning the damaged items. I felt relieved and thought the issue was resolved.

A little while later, I received an email saying I needed to return the items. Confused, I reached out again, and they apologized, telling me to disregard the email. I assumed everything was settled, and I continued with my day.

Fast forward two months, and I was shocked to see that I had been charged for the “free” replacement. I contacted customer service again, which turned into a grueling two-hour back-and-forth. Multiple representatives and even supervisors came and went, and in the end, they refused to refund me, despite my having clear proof of all previous conversations confirming that I was not supposed to return the damaged bottle.

In short, I ended up paying twice: once for the original damaged order, and again for the replacement of the same damaged item. I followed all of Amazon’s instructions and acted in good faith, yet I was still left out of pocket.

This experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Their policies may seem helpful on paper, but in practice, their customer service is disorganized, inconsistent, and unreliable. If you have the option, I would strongly suggest avoiding Amazon for anything where customer support may be required.

Amazon prime video service has…

Amazon prime video service has consistently and methodically increased its advertising throughout its programming.
Slowly and in a sneaky manner the corporation is inserting advertising which nullifies what was initially the attraction to streaming services.

My problem with Amazon deliveries is…

My problem with Amazon deliveries is that unless I keep a constant eye on my emails, I do not know that a delivery has been made. Delivery instructions: why can there not be a choice of "ring the doorbell"? A small thing maybe, but very frustrating, when an addition to Delivery instructions would make an great deal of difference to deliveries.

I am writing to provide feedback on your 'Pickup' marketing. As a customer who relies on a mobility scooter, these pickup locations are not accessible to me, especially during Canadian winters. Suggesting pickup as a 'great alternative' feels like an oversight that ignores the needs of disabled customers who rely on home delivery for essential shopping. Please ensure your marketing and service design account for users with mobility challenges.

Thank You

Unreliable and uneducated support

I was repeatedly given false and contradictory information regarding a missing package, including claims it was delivered when it was still marked as undelivered with the third party courier. A promised refund to my original payment method was not processed, and a gift card refund was issued without consent. I have screenshots documenting over a dozen failed support interactions and misinformation.

Shipping poor!!

They ship with a company called intel aka dragon fly. This shipping company lies about delivering items, lose your items and damages them. This is the second back to back bad experience with Amazon this month. Not impressed. My suggestion is FIND ANOTHER company to ship with.

My rating reflects the printing of the label. You have to scan something at the carrier's no matter if they print the label or not. So my point is why doesn't Amazon allow all returns to have the label printed at a carrier's location. It take less an 5 seconds for them to do it.

Amazon usually gets it right, but their deliveries...Another story!

Amazon usually gets it right, however they employ a delivery system in my part of the Province of Quebec called Intelecom which is constantly making errors; their deliveries are not timely, forget about them picking anything up as they will only come when you are not there and they like to hide packages (for instance, in an old unused garbage box that was topped with at least a foot of snow) - the delivery person managed to open it when there was no hint that the snow was disturbed and one of my packages had been in there for 4 days! Had it not been winter, the package would have been sitting in 3 inches of water! This is where you need to improve who you contract with and how penalties should be levied for each error! Perhaps that will help them deliver things properly!

Amazon.ca Print on Demand books are mostly defective.

I only buy books from Amazon.ca that I cannot find anywhere else. This is mainly due to their terrible "packaging" that essentially guarantees damage. Thus the only books I buy from them are print on demand titles that are only available from Amazon. But even here Amazon.ca is beyond unprofessional. About 80% of my books that come from Amazon.ca print on demand facility at Bolton, ON come with production defect: a split gap in the middle of a book. The thicker the book, the more pronounced the split gap is. Interestingly, books from their other print on demand facility, in Alberta, do not have this defect.
It's a pity one cannot attach pictures to illustrate.

I would give negative stars if I could

I would give negative stars if I could. Amazons service has tanked. Up until a couple months ago, our small town could get Amazon deliveries in a timely manner and we could also get all products that are listed on the website. Now no matter what we attempt to purchase, there is no estimated delivery, products say in stock but then they say, we will notify you when we have the product and an estimated delivery. If I change the delivery address to the next town, we can get all items with no issues, including lots of availability and very fast delivery. Amazon has done something to our postal code that has seriously limited product availability. Customer service only wants to repeat their talking points and won’t listen to the actual issue.
Word is, due to the Canada Post labour disputes, Amazon got their knickers in a knot and won’t use Canada Post/Purolator to ship in BC. So by Amazon stopping service with Canada Post/Purolator Amazon is actually screwing over their customers.

Baldfaced lie.

I talked to customer service on the Amazon chat page. I had put an order through that was arriving on Fri Nov 14/25, my grandson's Birthday. I had ordered 10 minutes late from getting it the Thu. My fault. But I was hoping it would arrive before the 3pm party on Friday. By noon I still had no package so decided to chat with Amazon Canada to see if they knew anything. The person told me he could contact the delivery company and make my package a priority to be delivered before 3pm. I was ecstatic, until I wasn't. I waited an hour later and then phoned the delivery company. They said no one had contacted them or the driver. And, the package had been dropped off to them only around noon Friday. I had been blatantly lied to by Amazon just to placate me and make them look good. The anger I feel right now is unbelievable. If the package would be late then tell me, DO NOT lie to me. Not sure what I am going to do now.

A lot of room for improvment

Amazon seem to have very poor handle on the condition of products being shipped. On many occasions, the product arrives either used or heavily used. When returned, then it becomes the cosumer's problem to prove, that what Amazon delivered was a used product. Then there is the issue of warranty. Amazon pushes their "Amazon basics" products by NOT offering any warranty past 30 days, in which case, good luck getting in touch with the company that produced the producs.
