Very thorough, well considered and balanced survey, very professional service.

Over the last 2 years, I have been selling off my BTL portfolio and have used several firms. I have found JE Shepherd the most professional by far, From the office staff to the surveyors themselves they are willing to help with every process. A Superslick process from start to finish. I won't waste any more of my time from now on trying anyone else.

Quick service, easy to use online

Our surveyor Kyle was prompt and efficient.
The report was comprehensive and completed with the minimum of fuss. Kyle answered all our queries and made the experience feel professional and hassle free.

Have used Shepherds twice this year and on both occasions staff were very helpful. It was easy to use the online admin process.

It is obviously a good company with a reputable reputation.
Only downside for myself on this occasion was the lack of consistency between each individual surveyors assessment of a property. This was an issue for myself when my Home Report required updating.

The surveyor did not seem to have recorded his findings accurately - for example wrong number of steps recorded at front door, said he could not access under floorboards due to carpets when main carpets had been removed. He also had not read the home report I had completed so, for example guessed the age of the house wrongly by a decade!
I further felt that he undervalued the property ignoring its corner plot and proximity to a school which was then reflected in the initial offers.
I also felt the initial system to approve and pay the fee was badly designed-I had to phone in with my payment and am not the only customer with similar problems.
Its disappointing that our viewer's felt the same and went on to commission alternative assessments.

The surveyor was friendly and very professional. He explained what he was doing and why. The report was expertly done and within a quick timescale.

I found Colin the surveyor a bit critical during his visit to my small Falkirk flat. I felt a bit 'put down' by his manner. It is a cheaper end property, but that is no reason to be a bit snobby.

Appointment was made very quickly and surveyor attended on time at my property. He was friendly, courteous and professional. I also liked the fact that he took time to explain the process and every aspect of what was examined and how it was described. The report itself was very fair and completed in a timeous manner. Great overall service was provided.
