While they have a great pitch of service and “helpful add-ons” their predatory service is based on you fearing for looking for a job and unable to do without. The service for the cost is beyond abysmal. I wouldn’t spend this kind of money on something that does not work. And don’t get any additional services either

Sounds like I dodged a bullet. I followed Robyn Storey on LinkedIn and enjoyed the stories she would write about clients. I had been thinking of updating my resume and low and behold in October she had a post about a ‘free’ 15 minutes to chat with her if you sent your resume and a few bullet points on what you were hoping to accomplish. I did that on October 25, 2025. My appointment was scheduled for December 12, 2025. She cancelled on December 12, 2025…literally 2 hours before the meeting. No email, no notice, just cancelled on my calendar.

This company is better at fighting a refund request than providing the service. Please take the turn to read the 1 start reviewed before purchasing. I wish I did….

I made an $889 payment and cancelled shortly after — on Nov 12, 2025 — before any service was rendered. It is now Nov 18, and I still have not received a refund nor confirmation of cancellation. I made it very clear I did not wish to proceed. I’ve now contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge for “services not rendered.”
Not a good experience for me, unfortunately. Save yourself the excessive fee- it appears they just add your information to Chat GPT and spit out the results. Lots of buzz words with zero context. I gave them the opportunity to start from scratch and remedy the messy result (missing information, wrong information, etc) but they declined. Looking for a job you are at your most vulnerable so take some free advise: AI is free. Simply ask Chat GPT to build your resume and then add the posted job description. Easy as pie and free. Much, much better results without the $600 price point.
Very prompt and quick responses. I got high quality work that clearly came from those who understood how the ATSs work.
I personally think that those that paid for anything beyond the resume service thought that all the money they’d throw at the expensive packages would automatically bet them a job. Not how the world works. It’s a risk you are taking.
In my personal opinion, their resume service is the best mainly for helping you get setup such that your resume gets through ATS and gets visibility with recruiters and HMs. For everything else, in my opinion it’s not needed for those that are in a vulnerable/desperate state. Use those if you’re in a decent spot and can play the long game with the job market.

Storyline Resumes Job Placement Services: My concerns!
Is Storyline as genuine as it seems? Are vulnerable job seekers at risk of exploitation?
Here’s my experience.
In 2024, I paid about $700 for resume and cover letter services from Storyline, with promises of improved job prospects.
In early 2025, Roberta Storey, Storyline’s CEO, introduced a job placement service for Senior Executive and C-Suite clients, claiming an average placement time of 11.5 weeks. The package included career coaching, direct resume submissions to hiring managers, and other benefits. Encouraged by these promises, I paid $2,999 for the job placement service and an additional $150 for an Executive Biography Summary, totaling roughly $3,150.00
More than six months later, beyond the guaranteed window, I have not received a job offer or evidence that my resume was sent to hiring managers. My attempts to resolve this with Storyline have resulted in delayed or absent responses, and I’ve requested a fair refund if commitments are not met. They have denied me access to their Linked account and no further communication from them.
I kindly ask Storyline Resumes to keep their promise or refund me fairly. As at time of writing, I have not been contacted by Storyline Resumes.
These people talk a great game and then fall completely flat. I’ll give them some credit for an interesting new approach to writing some of my resume which is why I’m giving two stars. After that process, they add no value and just shine you on. The “support” person never responds in a timely manner, talks around your requests for help and even gaslit me once about an email exchange.
The career “counseling” post resume is effectively non existent despite what they tell you during the sales process. They make it sound all mystical and I got zero leads or introductions based on the single meeting they offered. That entire part of the program is a sham.
They never even acknowledged my repeated requests for some kind of financial recompense so I finally disputed 2/3s of the charge with AmEx. (Who immediately approved it which tells me they’ve seen this before)
I really wish I had seen these reviews before spending money with Storeyline Resumes. Save yourself the trouble—and your money—you’ll get far better results using ChatGPT. The salesperson gives a convincing pitch, but the writers? Absolutely clueless. All they did was take my existing resume and shuffle things around. For the price they charge, that’s unacceptable. The worst part is you don’t even get to interview the writers to ensure they have the expertise you’re paying for.
I had a great experience with Storeyline Resumes. I had my resume revamped and that included an ATS version along with a fancy formatted version, a cover letter and they rewrote my LinkedIn page. Once I started using the ATS version I received 4 interviews. So glad I invested in myself to update everything.
This is very much not a bespoke service. It’s touted as one, the initial interview seems incredibly friendly, but once you sign up and pay it becomes very informal and cookie-cutter. My interviewer told me not to answer anything outside the scope of her questions, and when I tried to elaborate on something she interrupted each time. Upon receipt of the first draft it was clear they knew nothing of my industry and did not research it. They avoided industry specific verbiage for generalities that did me no good.
By the end I paid for an extremely expensive resume template that I populated myself, which happens to be remarkably similar to the default template in Word.
Totally unusable waste of $1500 and time. Despite repeatedly asking if the company and writer knew my market (not based in the USA) and them confirming they did, they did not. Very few edits were made to my resume aside from the layout, a diagram, and a few word changes. The LinkedIn profile was suggested to copy the resume, which is the opposite of how it’s used here. It’s for your story.
Argued with the writer back and forth as I was not happy, but COULD NOT DIRECT HER to improve it. Frankly that’s what I was paying for. As a published author myself, I can write. It was the positioning for the market here I needed.
I asked for escalation finally and got no where. Now I have a truly executive resume for a young, small business and entrepreneurial market that I haven’t used once.
Honestly really sad to be preying on job seekers and promising help without even looking at their resume first. That was the first sign they are NO GOOD. No assessment first. It’s impossible that they can improve every single resume. Some of us have already invested in other services and have a strong resume.
As a consultant, a discovery is essential. They missed the mark terribly and tried to pass the blame back to me for not providing further guidance to the writer who’s supposed to have guided me.
SAVE YOUR MONEY.

Storeyline Resumes sells a fantasy. What they actually deliver is a half-baked, mail-merge gimmick that any jobseeker with a LinkedIn account could replicate in under an hour.
I signed up expecting recruiter outreach based on my background, my industry, and the region I selected. What I got instead was a random list of recruiters. Many had nothing to do with my field, were not even in the same part of the country, and in some cases, were not even still in recruiting. I personally reached out to several of them. Some had never heard of Storeyline. Others confirmed they never received a single thing.
And here is the bottom line. Not one recruiter they supposedly contacted on my behalf ever contacted me. Not one.
There is no tracking. No delivery confirmation. No transparency. You are flying blind while they pocket your money and hand you a glorified contact list that may or may not be remotely relevant. In the latest batch I received, there was not a single recruiter from the region I selected.
I raised these concerns twice and was ignored for weeks. When I finally got a response after demanding cancellation, it was a canned excuse blaming filters, job changes, and how the system works.
This is not a service. It is a subscription to false hope. There is no strategy, no vetting, and absolutely no accountability. The fact that they target jobseekers, especially those who are out of work or trying to get back on their feet, is predatory.
I would not recommend Storeyline to anyone. Not for resumes. Not for outreach. Not for anything. Save your money. You will get better results sending messages on your own.

With the wave of global layoffs happening daily, I decided to update my resume as a precaution—even though my current role feels stable, you just never know. Working with Storeline Resumes was an exceptional experience from start to finish.
After submitting my resume, LinkedIn profile, and a few background details, the team scheduled phone conversations to truly get to know me. They asked thoughtful, probing questions about my career path, goals, and even the quirks that make me unique. It was clear they genuinely cared about crafting a resume that reflected not just my experience, but my personality and aspirations.
What they delivered was nothing short of a masterpiece. We went through two rounds of edits where I made minor tweaks, and they finalized everything with precision. I received a beautifully written resume, a tailored cover letter, and a step-by-step guide—including custom verbiage—for updating my LinkedIn profile.
Whether you're actively job hunting or just preparing for the unexpected, working with Storeline is easy, empowering, and truly transformative. Since updating my materials, I’ve received multiple compliments from peers in my industry who noticed the changes and loved them.
Highly recommend!

I paid almost $700 for my resume to be redone. I was skeptical at first but decided why not, the first call was fine but very car salesman, which was okay because I had already decided to just do it prior to the call. Moving on to the second call to chat about my skills, the woman was cold, rude and overall just terrible. I mean they had already gotten my money so why act with decency, right?! Anyway, by the end of the conversation this woman basically said she had nothing to work off, I have an extensive resume and told her plenty, also she kept cutting me off. Like she was on a less than 1min timer to speak on anything. It was robotic and just overall terrible. I reached out to customer service to see if I could get another person to chat with and they said they would have to charge another fee to do so. Moving on to the actual resume writing, it was fine but when I asked for things to be more tailored to a pivot I was trying to make in my career as I was completing a certification I was basically met with a no. I also asked at the end of if I could get my template changed as I wanted to to be cleaner. The resumer writer said it was fine and they will add a ATS version of my resume as this was a concern for me. After I received the final draft I asked if it was possible to have the template changed like I originally wanted. I was told that I would have to pay $125 to change the template of a resumer I spent $700 on. If I have any advice, please just go elsewhere.
These people do exactly what they say they will do, they craft a resume for an individual to present themselves in the best way possible in a dog eat dog job market. People who are leaving bad reviews do not understand the process or the customers responsibilities, in no manner did Storyline ever misrepresnt their services or product and their results shined through in my situation.
Do you diligence for yourself, know what you're getting into and let these wonderful people do what they do.
Thank you!

Contacted them for a resume service. The process was fairly simple however the writer that was assigned to me clearly had ZERO experience in my industry (Logistics) and struggled to meaningfully incorporate the information I provided.
I used this service after being promoted at my most recent job and have not had a need to submit this resume to any applications until now. I have found that I get less callbacks than when I was using a resume that I made myself. Perhaps more frustratingly, using this resume to apply for jobs is a complete PAIN because none of the work experience pulls into the application correctly. I have to add spaces, remove line breaks, and all sorts of formatting.
I reached out to the owner on LinkedIn and was ignored - a contrast to the quick response I received when initially inquiring about their service.

Reached out to Storyline once I realized the direction my company was going and thst my position would be phased out.
Interviewer was attentive and listened, and even asked questions to try and get more info. They also reminded me that I could always add things as I remember to the portal, which was super helpful.
The resume was done really well, tailored to the position I was looking for and full of important metrics that companies are looking for. Storyline helped me to tell my true story that I was struggling to find the right words to tell! Less then 2 weeks after getting it, and my LinkedIn, done, a headhunter reached out and less then 3 weeks after that, I landed my dream job!! Storyline works, but you have to help them paint the picture. Be open and ready during your interview, remember your metrics, and Storyline will do the rest! 100% recommend!
Looking for a new opportunity and they had a great pitch. Unfortunately it's all lies. Not only that, but they convince you to pay for a rush and a coaching session. Didn't use the coaching session and after the lack of results they claimed I'd get, I asked for a refund on the unused session as clearly it wouldn't work. I haven't even received an interview let alone the recruiters they promised would come to me via LinkedIn. I had more prior to changing it. I've had 0 since. Bad business practices and stealing. Stay very far away from them.
