Almost $2,000 down the drain
My sister spent almost $2,000 with this company purchasing me a birthday present (I was floored when I found out the price). For a Resume, a Cover Letter and 3 coaching sessions. To start no one at the company communicates with one another. When I had my first phone interview the employee didn't know what package was purchased, and that I didn't buy it for myself. Their first words were "So what was your goal when you purchased this for yourself?"
Then coaching sessions themselves, I would rate higher than 1 start, but that is only for that single employee I worked with.
On to the resume and cover letter. The resume is passable, but obviously follows a template someone put together for them. The cover letter.... I had someone that interviews laugh out loud at the cover letter. Whoever wrote it used a run on sentence to introduce me and then had no idea how to describe the position for work that I perform.
All in all my sister is out of a months worth of rent that we could have set on fire, or actually spent on rent and gotten more use out of it because I would at least have a place to live or some warmth. Avoid at all costs.

If you have no resume skills whatsoever I suppose this is an option. Although you could find the same services for a fraction of the price.
If you already have a resume and you basically want someone to cut and paste it into a new format this is the service for you.
They will gladly take $600-$1000 of your money, cut and paste your existing resume into a new format and send you on your way.
Total ripoff. Roberta is a great salesperson, but the services she offers falls far short of the promises.
Don't waste your money.

Excellent company, very helpful
The process was great and the resume that came out produced results. I will say that I wished they had more intel/military people on staff to help with the wording. However, they did a great job reworking my explanations on my experience and produced a successful resume.
The job I got was a job I had applied for back in 2023 with my own resume and I didn’t even get in the door. When I used their resume product, I applied again this year and got the job. I haven’t changed but my resume did.

Meh. Save Your Money.
They absolutely nothing that can’t be done more easily and quickly on one’s own.
They are not miracle workers and they have no special insight.
The one piece of advice from them I hadn’t heard before (that I’m still not sure is accurate) is to NOT turn the “Open For Work” badge on on one’s LinkedIn profile.

You're absolutely right that many people can write their own resumes effectively - in fact, we encourage this for those who feel confident in their writing abilities. However, we've found that even excellent writers sometimes struggle to write about themselves objectively or to keep up with current ATS requirements and hiring trends. It's similar to how a professional photographer might hire another photographer for their wedding - sometimes an outside perspective brings valuable insights.

Definitely not worth the $700 I paid. It was mostly cut and paste for each document. I could have done this myself. I have worked with resume writers before for my academic application materials, and they actually took the time to help me craft a template and make a cover letter that I could use over and over. This company just cut and pasted the first part of my resume to be the "cover letter" (which they say is "not important"). I feel scammed. I want my money back.

My resume lacked the story of who I am as a leader; no matter how I formatted it, it was missing something. From the initial call to the last draft meetings with my writer, the service was top-notch, the writer wasn't satisfied until I was. I've been complimented in almost every interview about my resume "wow that stands out" and "eye-catching" I had a recruiter ask me to teach her how I did it. I would be the first to say in this economy we need to watch our spending, it took me convincing to justify a purchase. The value v. cost are totally worth it.

Do not trust this company
Do not trust this company! I signed up for resume services and they couldn’t get me booked in a timely manner for an interview to start the process after paying for the expedited rate. I called immediately and they told me it would take 30 days to show up as a credit on my credit card. I have been chasing down a refund for over two months and still do not have it after they shared that everything was refundable if you haven’t started the process with them. I couldn’t start the process based on how overloaded their team was. They should not be offering expedited services if they cannot provide the services at the time and schedule for the executive they are supporting.

Our records show we maintained consistent contact throughout this process, responding to each of your inquiries and keeping you updated about the status of your refund.
Regarding the timeline of events, when you requested a refund due to scheduling conflicts, we immediately initiated the process. Throughout this period, we responded to your inquiries and provided updates as we received them from our merchant processor. Most importantly, on February 3rd, we emailed you confirming that the refund was completed, including the specific transaction number for your records.
You are correct that we were unable to provide services – this was at your request for cancellation, which we honored. We do not issue refunds and provide the contracted services.
I also want to point out that scheduling can sometimes be wide open or have limited availability. The expedited services come with a certain set of timelines, but due to conflicting schedules, we cannot always guarantee immediate availability. We do our best to accommodate all of our clients, and when issues arise, we work together to find the best solution.
We take our reputation for honesty and transparency very seriously. While we understand your frustration with the refund timeline, we maintained communication throughout the process and followed all proper procedures to ensure you received your refund.

I was one of the people who was laid off for 9 months. During the beginning of me being laid off I was really needing my resume to be re done. I reached out to Robynn and she got me set up with her team and they did my resume and it was one of the best resume I ever had. 10 Star Experience!
Professional and knowledgeable team-beyond impressed. Every team member I spoke with was incredibly helpful, responsive, and highly professional. I've used other well known resume companies in the past-outsourced their writers, was never able to communicate via phone, only email. With Storeyline Resumes, they're incredibly thorough and take the time to get to know you, your work history and your futures aspirations. Hiring Storeyline Resumes is a great investment. They offer different packages depending on where you're at in your career and also assist in creating a great LinkedIn profile. Not recommended for senior/executive-level resumes. The process lacks guidance on summarizing experience effectively and relies solely on your input. The provided Word document is poorly formatted, doesn’t print correctly, and isn’t compatible with Applicant Tracking Systems, requiring extensive manual adjustments. This volume-focused service offers little value for senior roles, even with the executive package.

Paid in full for services - Still don't have my products on 1/7/24. Terrible service and product.
I hired StoreyLine on 8/29/24 after chatting with Roberta (Robyn sometimes - Why does her name change??) on LinkedIn. She seemed upbeat and I liked her content - thought I'd give it a try.
I had a terrible first call. He read from a script, didn't answer questions and was extremely unprofessional and threatening about invoices.
I emailed in and had nice follow up call that salvaged my business so I booked services.
My interview was long and extended, but the interviewer had no clue what my industry was and asked pointless questions. No connection at all.
I received my first draft at the last possible minute of their deadline and it was absolutely terrible. The format was terrible, the content was terrible, and it was not at all what I was sold.
I asked to speak with the writer and it was evaded by a customer care manager - assuming this process is indeed done via AI. I asked for another interview to get the content formatted better with my experience - I was told no unless I wanted to pay another fee. Instead I was provided with multiple resume revisions that were still not inline with my feedback.
I made contact on 9/25 with Roberta (Robyn?) on LinkedIn to discuss issues. She assured me she would look into the issues and get back to me the next day. No response to this date.
I requested a refund and was declined. Keep in mind, I've received nothing but a first draft. Not one thing I've paid for in full.
No one from Storeyline has attempted to right this wrong since 9/27/24. They have not followed up to complete my order or find acceptable solutions, But they're happy to keep my money.
It's 1/7/2025. I still don't have the product I've paid for.
This business is all smoke and mirrors. Terrible customer service. Poor experience from owner.
