I was in need of a wiring diagram and some advice for my campervan build, and after looking around and doing some research, I chose to use Tom’s services due to the amazing reviews he had, and the reputation he has gained within the community, and rightly so!
Tom was super friendly and helpful during the zoom call, and I left feeling very confident that I’m getting the best service possible. He is extremely knowledgeable, and is obviously very enthusiastic about what he does. The aftercare was also fantastic, very quick to reply and with great detail too.

As a 50-something woman with close to zero experience of all things DIY, including electrics, converting my campervan is thrilling and terrifying and I am generally feeling around 5,000 miles outside of my comfort zone! Thanks to Tom though, I am confident that the full system he's supplied me - alongside the detailed guidance I'm tapping into via the bespoke wiring guidance he's created for me together with his remote consultations - will give me the very best chance of ending up with a set-up that is as safe and functional as possible. Firet reached out to TBE early 2021 for a hefty electrical set up in my van.
Tom was knowledge, friendly and efficient.
However, 3yrs down the line he’s still providing advice and support for anything which pops up with my system.
Living in the van almost 200days a year for work having this support has been awesome- particularly when I have other colleagues who went to other electrical suppliers from online who were constantly have to fault find things themselves.

I took on the challenge of building my campervan completely myself with no prior experience and I wanted to fit my own electrics because I couldn’t afford an electrician.

After spending weeks on YouTube stressfully watching other people have different ways of installing a system and trying to figure out my loads, solar etc whilst constantly concerned about safety! I decided to speak to Tom at tiny build electrics and he was so patient, motivated and brilliant to talk to! He made me feel so comfortable and I felt the right thing to do was to go forward with a bespoke plan for my system which complied with all BS safety standards. ( he also offers support for pre/part installed systems or any issue your having)

He provided me a custom diagram for my van with all the components, wires and fuses clearly shown. He also provides full installation support via installation guides, videos and the most proactive what’s app support group know to man! (Andy your our hero!) which gives anyone who has no experience all the knowledge they need to install their own electrical system!

It doesn’t stop there! He also lists every single component you need and then supplies and sends them to your door! If your having second thoughts about being competent enough to install your own electrics or getting stressed out researching every item then stop what you are doing and get into contact with Tom! You won’t regret it :)

We are based in NZ and have worked with Tiny Build Electrics on two projects recently. The first was a conversion of a stock Bürstner motorhome to lithium batteries, larger solar system, compressor fridges, self powered 230v system etc. We were unsure of the ramifications of integrating with the existing Elektroblok kit. The second project was similar, on an Eriba caravan. What TBE bring is the ability to talk through and understand the issues and any safety concerns through their one-to-one online consultations; also the provision of a wiring schematic which gives the correct cable sizes, breakers and fuses to use. The latter is extremely useful when explaining to a 3rd party how the system should be built. I used a local auto electrician to make up and fit the large, heavy current cables because you need the right tooling to make safe connections.
Both systems have performed extremely well and we thoroughly recommend Tom Alderdice and TBE. It’s worth noting that whilst TBE resells Victron kit, local NZ constraints and our personal preferences lead us to other manufacturers too. Tom was happy to research and include the specifications of gear from EPEver, Renogy, Redarc and Pylontech to name a few (NB these are not manufacturer recommendations by us or TBE). I also found TBE’s instructional “shorts” on YouTube and Instagram to be worth a look. The have a build manual coming out too! TBE’s input has greatly enhanced our offgrid living experience and given us peace of mind.

I contacted Tom in 2021 as I have absolutely no idea when it comes to electrics. Tom is fantastic, we had a video chat where I told him all of my requirements for my build. We talked it through, I asked a ton of questions & he advised me on the best system for my needs.

The process is comprehensive, not only did I get a full list of everything I needed, I was provided with a full schematic, links to various manuals, safety & installation information.

There's also incredible aftercare, a WhatsApp group where you can ask questions & advice. And Tom is still available years later to help with anything. Highly recommend TBE :)

We’d done a huge amount of research and spoken to multiple companies prior to reaching out to Tiny Build and I can honestly say Tiny Build instantly instilled so much confidence even from our first conversation, thanks to the wealth of knowledge Tom has, not only about electrical systems, but also around all of regulations - somthing we felt was very much missing from the other providers we had spoken to.
