Worst taxi firm ever

Booked 4 taxis in June to transport 14 people to a festival 28th August. Also reconfirmed the booking a few days prior and was told all OK. Pick up time came and no show. Called to be told they only had 1 car on the booking and that he was running late. They couldn't send the other 3 cars on the booking even though we had booked them months in advance. They then refused to send the 1 car that was on it's way. We also had them booked for the return journey. We quickly had to scrabble round to buy parking at the festival and then 3 people had to become designated drivers and use their own cars to get us there and back. Defeating the object o why we wanted to go by taxi in the first place. Do not use them, they are beyond useless and they do not honour their bookings!

I'd give a 0 star if I could.

This is the second time I prepaid for a taxi that did not turn up. I will never use V Cars again - avoid at all cost!

Do not waste your time/money booking V Cars. Book a reliable taxi firm with good reviews and good customer service as this was awful - trust the reviews!

Wish I’d read the reviews! Horrendous company

Wish I’d read the reviews!! Checked day before. Message said car was on its way would be with me shortly and that was it! I went to wait on the pavement to see it drive off. Sent another message saying it couldn’t find and was cancelled. Rang v cars.. as helpful as a .. kept saying they apologise like a broken record, they were fully booked, the taxi couldn’t find me. Asked them to speak to the driver, they said they aren’t authorised to do that ..whag s complete joke.. no safety there then! .. how could it be fully booked when it was my journey time.
They had the idiocy of putting me through to messages for complaints even though I had asked not to be.
The supervisor wouldn’t speak to me. I had a coach and flight to catch. I’d completely useless. How they trade is mystifying , other than there isn’t any competition, many Uber drivers are infact v cars. It didn’t let me leave a review for todays date 30 th august! So I’ve changed it to 29 th August!
This company should not be in business.

Utterly incompetent

Utterly incompetent! Avoid avoid avoid!

This is the last time I ever use this company. Every time they have been absolutely terrible. I ordered a taxi to arrive at 12.15 at the airport. The car arrived at 1am in the wrong pick up location. Even though I had already paid by card they insisted I hadn’t. I was just about to pay cash again on arrival when finally the payment went through. They are utterly useless and totally infuriating.

Avoid this taxi firm at all costs.

This is a story of failings on two levels. One by Bristol University (more of them later) & one by this, at best, unprofessional so called taxi firm. My daughter is at Bristol University, we her parents, are in Manchester. She is studying Veterinary nursing at the Langford Vet practice. On the date mentioned she was finishing her shift at 8pm. The taxi was booked for 20.10pm. It did not turn up. When she rang V-cars to chase it up, she was told it had been cancelled. No explanation, no apology, no resolution offered. This left her alone, in the dark, in the middle of nowhere, stranded 14 miles from home. Fortunately, Uber to the rescue, but at a cost of £28.00. She's a student remember. She got home an hour & a half later. To compound the issue, there was no signal so she was having to rely on the Uni wi-fi to call for a replacement taxi. The following evening, the same thing happened again & in a panic she called her Mum in Manchester. My wife called V-cars & explained the situation to what can only be described as the most unhelpful, unprofessional & rude individual she has ever had the misfortune to speak to. He confirmed that again the taxi had been cancelled but refused to send a replacement taxi on the grounds that it was an account booking so without the reference & account number, which of course we didn't have it was impossible, even though she had offered to pay directly instead. He even tried to insinuate that the driver had arrived but no-one was there so he left, which is at best simply untrue & at worst a lie. So, once again, lone female, stranded through no fault of her own. And again, eventually after much tooing & froing, Uber to the resue but at the same cost as before. Daughter is now down £56.00. This is where the University is culpable. Apparently, it appears they had not paid the taxi bill, so no taxis. At no point had anyone thought to relate this information to my daughter. When she contacted them to explain what had happened, their response was faint horror followed by promises that it would be rectified. Rest assured, a stiffly worded letter has been sent to them, given their past poor track record of pastoral care of their students, demanding they sort this situation out for the future & that they reimburse my daughter as soon as possible. You might be tempted to say, well, this is the University's fault, not the taxi firm's, and I would agree to some extent with that analysis, but I would argue that as a transport company it is their responsibility to ensure the safety of their clients. Nobody was asking them to do anything for free, just that they fulfil a moral obligation to ensure the safety of their end user. It is safe to say that my daughter will never again rely on a company that shows such contempt for their customer & a distinct lack of care for their safety.

Dreadful service, avoid at all costs

Dreadful service. Ordered a taxi to airport in advance to make an early flight for a family holiday. Reconfirmed my booking the day before. On the morning the taxi turned up 45minutes late meaning we nearly missed our flight.
Reconfirmed our pick up from airport for return home journey. Upon landing received a text stating our booking had been cancelled. No explanation. Leaving us at airport at 2am with two small children and no way of getting home.
This company is a joke. Poorly managed, badly run and totally unreliable. They accept forward bookings without any idea of whether they will be able to fulfil them.
Avoid at all costs.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs. Awful. My daughter and her friends some weeks ago booked a 7-seater to take them to the airport tomorrow, the morning of 13th August. The organiser checked with the firm two days ago that all was fine with the booking. This evening, 12th August V Cars inform that they have no 7-seater available. They offered two normal taxis at nearly twice the price. Unreliable? Dishonest? Probably a smattering of both.

Terrible. Cannot rely on them at all.

Phoned at 22.40 and used automated system which said 5 mins. We then made 6 more calls, spoke to the dispatchers who kept saying it was coming and be on way or their automated system said a few mins. An hour later, the taxi came. What is the matter with your system? How can it give such wrong information and then 3 different dispatchers also gave wrong information.

Awful

Awful. Booked 2 cabs for Saturday 6th August ‘22 - one online on Friday night to collect me from wedding venue back to hotel and also called them on Saturday to collect me from hotel and take me to the venue. That booking was completed via their automated telephone system - it asked me for collection details and time but not the destination. On both occasions my booking was confirmed. No sign of pick up cab so called to be advised (and blamed) that no cab had been dispatched as I hadn’t given a destination - THE AUTOMATED TELEPHONE SYSTEM DIDNT ASK FOR ONE! Couldn’t provide eta for dispatch. Dispatcher couldn’t wait to get me off the phone - totally disinterested. Waited half an hour, called back and still no driver had accepted the job. Eta of 10 minutes was a finger in the air estimation. Cancelled the cab and ordered an Uber. Just then, V cars arrived, but it wasn’t my cab, it was for a couple also staying at the hotel who had been waiting for something like an hour before they gave up and walked to the station to grab a cab there. Read the reviews - my experience is alarmingly typical. I was an hour late for wedding reception thanks to V Cars incompetence. I’ll never use V Cars again. Given lack of faith in their ability to actually deliver the service they sell, I cancelled the evening booking and made alternative arrangements to get me back to the hotel. I’ll use Uber next time - more efficient and can track driver in real time so know how long you’ll need to wait!

Waste your time. Utterly rubbish.

Booked 3 days in advance for a car to take us to Bristol. We are waiting for it to arrive at 12 noon. By 10 past nothing, we phone the depot and the guy fobs us off with a story about dispatching procedure. We wait until 1pm - A FULL HOUR after we had booked, and we get a message to say "Sorry we couldn't find you, please rebook" EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE THE ADDRESS ON RECORD AND HAVE PICKED UP FROM THIS ADDRESS BEFORE. In the end we simply drove our own car. Utterly useless pile of $hit for a service.

Don’t use V-Cars: appalling experience

In Bristol: Driver arrived early and acted annoyed when I asked him to wait until our scheduled pickup time of 7:15; when we came outside at 7:15 he was nowhere to be seen. Three minutes later I found him down the road having taken another booking; he was rude to me, then drove off leaving me and two small children stranded needing to get to the coach station.

Fortunately found another lift just in time, but I will never use V-Cars again, nor will my extended family who have been regular customers despite unreliable (usually late) service in the past couple of years. I used to trust V-Cars years ago when they provided good service, but this was a horrendous, upsetting experience and we’re done with them.

Unsafe and rude.

The driver turned up in a different car to the one I had confirmed in a message, because I questioned this I got really rude answers. My friend needed to get home ASAP so we got in after they called our phone confirming they were the from v cars to which the rudeness continued. When asked why he was being sp rude he replied "walk if you prefer, it'll be cheaper and less argumentative for you" to which I did get out as did not feel happy being in the cab.
V cars, what is the point in adding a safety feature of sending a message confirming the car make, model and registration and then take it away and let any car turn up (apparently the driver had to quickly change the car before picking us up). The rudeness from these drivers lately is ridiculous and something needs to be done about it, you need to have a small level of trust in a taxi driver to get you somewhere safely and you are vastly taking this away from your customers.

Let down by no show

Used this company using the number for Streamline 926 4001 which was a good company when I used them for work years ago. They were obviously taken over by an appalling outfit.
Booked a taxi the previous day for 5.15 AM to get to Bristol Temple Meads for airport bus to get a flight. At 5.10 AM I got an automated text saying they 'were very busy' and would get a taxi 'as soon as possible' By 5.50 AM they still hadn't showed up despite assurances from their operator that "they'd do their level best". Ended up phoning Bristol Yellow Cabs who saved the day.
Avoid V Cars if you want anything reliable.

Appalling service

Appalling service. They wouldn't book a short return ride on a Sunday afternoon (despite taking us in the morning one way) without prepayment despite us explaining their payment service didn't work on our phones. Their automated service is also joke. Don't waste your time

Absolute rubbish

Absolute rubbish
Attended a party a little out the way, prebooked taxis both ways.

Return never showed up, no idea how long or guarantee they would attend, we had booked and guaranteed 3 days in advance, elderly relatives in tow. They couldn't care less and left us with no way to get home.

Would never use them again
