THE FULL STORY FROM START TO FINISH BELOW:

The car itself was great and I used it all over Croatia. I didn't get the extra insurance for the boat or to drive across borders, but those options are available.

When we arrived there was an hour-long wait outside the airport for the attendant to arrive - the office is in a booth outside on the car park, if you need to know. The price was very affordable.

The issue however came from the damage deposit.

As I'm sure we all know, this is a necessary thing when renting a car. I gave my credit card and expected to have a "hold" on my credit card, as is standard whenever I have rented in the past. However, the damage deposit was charged - as in, it was as if I PAID 1000 Euro to them. Now we were told, upon the return of the car, that it would take 30 days to get my damage deposit back. I waited the 30 days and then called Valentina when it wasn't refunded. There were excuses aplenty, lots of dodging paying it back. and I was persistent, never getting angry, just making a nuisance of myself. Calling ALOT.

I then spent the next three weeks calling Valentina periodically, eventually calling twice a day to ask where my deposit money was. I eventually had to fill in an email form with my account number and IBAN number for my DEBIT account (not my credit card). Meanwhile, I had incurred interest fees on my credit card.

The money did eventually come back after 50 days and I have it in my account now, but not without an awful lot of phone calls, emails, admin and lots of stress. If, like me, you can't afford to incur interest on your credit card and want to not be racked with stress (as i'm sure we all have enough stress at the moment), then think VERY CAREFULLY about hiring with Vintax.

It is an affordable option and the car was a very nice car and worked. However, if you want to save yourself the time and admin and headaches after enjoying a holiday, I'd suggest paying a bit more and going with Hertz.

Terrible company, they have charged me 1000 euro deposit, which was taken not freezed from my credit card.After nearly two months later money is still not transffered back into my account. Support team is a joke- they are not responding for e-mails, not answering their phones. And even if you are Lucky enough to speak woth them l, they are lying you striaght into your face. They are even making up bank transfer confirmation proving that money was transffered but its not. Avoid them if possible.

Kaution wird nicht zurückgezahlt! AUF KEINEN FALL DORT EINEN MIETWAGEN BUCHEN!

Ich kann nur die Beobachtungen meiner Vorredner bestätigen. Ich habe auch einen Mietwagen Mitte Juni am Flughafen Split gemietet und die Kaution in Höhe von 1000€ seither nicht zurück erhalten. Ich habe sogar einen Zettel der bestätigt, dass ich das Auto unbeschadet zurückgegeben habe.

Ich habe den Mietwagen über Check24 aufgrund der guten Bewertungen gebucht aber wurde da offensichtlich enttäuscht. Wenn Check24 nicht weiterhelfen kann werde ich auch einen Anwalt einschalten. Das lasse ich mir nicht gefallen.

Ich habe am 11.06bis 15.06 ein Auto (Flughafen Pula ) gemietet und 1000Euro Kaution bezahlt .Die Kaution habe ich bis heute nicht bekommen !!! Auf Nachfrage bei CHECK 24 sollte ich noch 8 Wochen warten!!!! Ich werde ein Anwalt beantragen weil Check 24 reagiert auch nicht !! Finger weg von diesem Vermittler und Vermieter!!!!

Rather than locking the €1000 deposit (as normally happens literally every single time I've rented a card elsewhere) they took the money out of my account - I phoned to enquire about this when I noticed it had not been returned to my account and the women on the phone was HORRIFICLY rude - I told her I would be taking this up with the fraud department of my bank and she pretty much laughed at me.

I did raise this through the fraud department of my bank who are now investigating.

DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!

we have booked a vehicle with Vintax Dubrovnik via CARJET from 27/06 to 4/07.

We have paid CARJET 18.53€ and the rest to be paid 123.53€ upon receipt of the car .

Once there VINTAX forced us to take out insurance of €200 and a security deposit of €500.

Usually the guarantee deposit is just a credit card imprint. To our surprise, the €500 were debited the same day, and to date, have not been refunded to us.

To date, no news from CARJET (ticket: 2579957), the same from VINTAX and even less from the 500 €.

24/08 : resolution by your bank (bank to bank), I was reimbursed by VINTAX's bank...

I've had to change my review of abbycar (also known locally as vintax) in Pula airport in Croatia because even though the car passed inspection upon return and we were told we'd get our deposit back within 24 hours we still haven't received our deposit back and it's been a month now. We saw they didnt just block the deposit (as car rental companies normally do) but have actually charged the card which I've never seen a car rental do before. we've tried to chase and still no money back, their staff member called valentina is being very slow and unhelpful I think on purpose to delay the refund, very disappointed in this company, will not use again, we're raising dispute with the card company now.

Warnung Split Mietwagen zu nehmen. Ich warne dringend davor Vintax Car Rent !!.Ich habe vor sechs Wochen ein Auto gemietet und bis heute nicht meine Kaution von 1000€ nicht zurück erhalten. Auch Anfragen meinerseits wird nicht mehr reagiert.

please avoid them, they trick customers with there low cost car hire so they can keep thousands of Euros of our money through security deposit...
been waiting over 40 days with countless emails and calls to get them to refund deposit but no answer...
this company and CAR JET car hire ltd should be taken to court for scamming many customers....

No, they will not pick you up at the airport.
The address they provide is not the address of their office, but of the airport building.
If you send them an SMS and ask for details about picking up a booked car, they will not answer.
You have to call them 10 times from the airport at your car pick-up time for your call to be answered.
Then they promise to pick you up from the airport in one hour, you just relax and drink coffee.
If you decide to rather walk to their place, then they will send you coordinates of their office in 1 hour.
If you are booked by the "Abbycar rental" office, you will not find such an office. They operate under some other company named "Vintax car rental".
If you ask some residents on the way, they will tell you the right company name to search for ;-)
Finally I found their office after a 45 min walk around 37 celsius at noon.

The office place looks scary. There was a robbed Car-Keys storage machine near their office.
After a 45 min walk to find their office on a hot day, I found out that they have fresh water at the office, but no glasses at all.
Finally, they will not give you any car if you have a Debit-VISA-Credit card regardless of your card being accepted world wide at any car rental office. They explain, this is a Debit card :-) regardless of what your bank says about it. So I did not get any car from them.
After 2 hours they called me from their office in Zagreb (?!?!) to ask me to come back to their office in Kaštel Štafilić because they mean I accidentally took the keys of their office  :-)
This company is a complete disaster. This is also confirmed by most of the reviews.
Also their stuff at the office is very  unprofessional.

Like other reviewers, Vintax have not returned my deposit. It's now six weeks since I returned the car. Total scam - avoid this company!

Ich möchte alle unbedingt warnen, die sich ins Split aufhalten und mit dem Gedanken spielen, sich für ein paar Tage einen Mietwagen zu nehmen. Ich warne dringend davor dies Bein Vintax Car Rent zu tun. Ich habe dort vor sechs Wochen ein Auto gemietet und bis heute nicht meine Kaution von 1250 € zurück erhalten. Auch Anfragen meinerseits wird nicht mehr reagiert. Leider berichten auch 90% der Kundenrezensionen davon, dass die Kaution dummdreist einbehalten wird. Ich werde jetzt auf jeden Fall einen Anwalt aus Split mit dem Fall betreuen. Also bitte obacht bei Vintax. Nepper, Schlepper und Bauernfänger.

Alle bis jetzt abgegebenen Bewertungen haben 100% gestimmt. Bitte nur FINGER WEG von diesem Car rent!. Wir haben das Auto genau mit den gleichen Schäden (und es gabs nicht wenige) abgegeben wie wir den gemietet haben. Trotzdem wurde uns am Ende ein Kratzer !!! der kein Kratzer war!!! berechnet. 600 EUR müssen wir dafür zahlen. Die anderen Anwesenden Automieter dort haben genau so wie wir kein Kratzer gesehen. Leider mussten wir zum Flug und konnten wir keine Polizei holen. Der "nette Mann" hat und noch Wort wörtlich gesagt, was wir überhaupt erwarten bei so einem niedrigen Mietpreis...ich dachte, ich höre nicht richtig. Mit Kautionen und Schadenersatzkosten holt sich der Vermieter, wie es aussieht, so sein Geld rein. Wir haben das Auto über Car JET gebucht. VINTEX hat auch kein Schalter am Flughafen SPU und somit sind wir in eine Metallhütte gebracht worden, um dort das Auto zu mieten. Ich denke, der Vermieter wird sich diese Season genügend Geld auf diese Art reinholen und ich hoffe, niemand mietet mehr den Wagen dort!

Cette compagnie travaille à l’aéroport de Dubrovnik sous le nom SURPRICE CAR RENTAL. Véhicule loué fin avril, ils attendent mon retour pour prélever les 1700€ de caution. Des centaines de mails, d’appels restés vains. J’ai du dénoncer le paiement au service Monetique de ma banque pour qu’ils dédaignent enfin me rembourser. Fuyez cette compagnie !

Da chiudere, truffatori patentati e disonesti. Mi hanno addebitato un graffio al paraurti posteriore della macchina, impercettibile e già preesistente, visibile solo abbassandosi sotto la vettura. Personale sul posto con comportamenti delinquenziali, sono stato minacciato per firmare la dichiarazione del danno ed hanno preteso 500 euro, senza alcuna stima del danno, nonostante il deposito cauzionale di 1000 euro. Evitate se potete

Tut euch den Gefallen nicht bei diesem Unternehmen zu buchen.Nach 2 Monaten habe ich meine Kaution in Höhe von 1000 Euro nicht zurückbekommen.Ich bin im Juli wieder in Split werde sie zur Rede stellen.Ich werde alles tun um mein Geld zurückzubekommen.

Sehr speziell und absolut unorganisiert. Bei Abholung (in Split) war soweit alles okay, Rückgabeadresse nicht auffindbar, erst niemanden angetroffen - keine telefonische Erreichbarkeit.
Nun warte ich seit 10. April auf meine Kaution von 1000€. Auch hier wiederum keine Ansprechpartner.
Unbedingt meiden und nicht zu empfehlen.

Vintax Rent, Zagreb, Kroatien: Die Autovermietung nimmt eine Kaution in Höhe von € 1.000,00 ein. Auch 1,5 Monate nachdem das Fahrzeug in einwandfreiem Zustand zurückgegeben wurde, zahlt die Autovermietung die Kaution immer noch nicht zurück. Ich telefoniere seit Wochen und werde immer vertröstet. Bald muss ich wohl einen Rechtsanwalt einschalten.
