House manager Jo
I have been living in a McCarthy stone apartment in Burgess Hill for 6 months. I left a review a few months ago mentioning how good Jo the house manager was and 6 months down the line Jo is still amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for her. My lock on my front door wouldn't work and I booked a tradesman to come out to fix it but in the meantime Jo spoke to another resident who came and fixed it for me. Jo again saved me a lot of money. I bought new lights for my apartment and Jo spoke to a qualified electrician who installed them for me and he wasnt expensive. Her job keeps her extremely busy but she always finds time to help. She is a STAR.

What's to like about Amelia court
My wife and I moved from the isle of Wight to the Amelia Court development in Worthing earlier in the year and I can safely say it was one of the best moves we have done.All the staff are first class nothing is too much trouble they are led by development manager Aimee who leads by example ,if we need anything we ask for its there we recently had a Macmillan morning and raised over £500 ,what ever we asked Aimee for it was supplied ,all the other residents are so easy to get on with we have music nights, quizzes bingo they are all well attended ,we have coffee mornings with much laughter and also in the early evenings,so all those able to join in come down and chat.

George House
George House, Stevenage - my parents moved into their lovely flat in 2018, it was a big decision to leave the family home but a decision never regretted. From day one they felt very welcomed by Sue, House Manager and soon settled in to their new home with a strong sense of belonging. Thank you to Sue for all your kindness and approachability. Sue is highly valued by the residents and McCarthy Stone are lucky to have Sue as a House Manager. She is a true professional and goes above and beyond her role, nothing is too much trouble. George House is a wonderful community to live in and my parents have lived life to the full in a secure and safe environment. Orchid Place
We met Kelly a year ago when the site was under construction and she helped use choose our beautiful apartment in Orchid Place, Exeter. We sold our house within days and our journey began.
We used Smooth move to make things easier and they were brilliant, taking control of the move and helped with the vast amount of paperwork which took a lot of stress away. As the development was running a bit behind and our buyer wasn’t happy Kelly organised storage for our furniture and found us an apartment at another development where we stayed for 2 weeks.
As we bought off plan, we didn’t actually see our apartment until a few weeks before moving in. Kelly was amazing, answering all our questions, measuring up and she even made a video of the apartment while it was still being finished which was very helpful.
We love our apartment, it is very well designed and now a very cosy home with beautiful grounds and spectacular views.
Getting around is easy, within a few minutes walk of several bus stops that take you to seasides, shops and the city centre. The river Exe is nearby which is great for many walks and lots of restaurants.
We have a lovely manager Jane who is really helpful, kind and always on hand to help with any problems and keeps us all up to date with what is going on.
We have a great community here and everyone is so friendly. We enjoy our coffee mornings Friday Fizz afternoons and there are plenty of things to do including Yoga, Tia-chi, dominoes and singing for fun. If you don’t want to join in, then that’s fine too, you can do as little or as much as you want to. Friends and family are always welcome.
We have settled in well and love it.

Sue our house manager took us out on a outing to Keiths place at woodhall spa. THis was an interseting visit and we were made to feel welcome.
Followed by the film pressure st the KInenma, this was a wonderful film for me the science involved was mind bogling. I was 14 when this event happened and i knew from the daily paper how important it was. But to see the weather scientists struggling with air balloons and maps to try to decide whether to go or delay was inspring.
It was so clever of Sue to get us to such a lovely place and watch a film with such an importsnt meaning.
Thankyou to Sue for taking a days holiday for us. Much obliged.

My lovely mum and McCarthy Stone
We moved my mum into McCarthy Stone in Bromsgrove in August 2023 as she had had a few TIAs. I cannot praise the staff highly enough for the loving care my mum received. She kept her independence, walking into town every day, meeting new friends for coffee in the residence lounge and eating regularlyin the onsire restaurant. She was especially fond of Grahame on the front desk, as are we all.
They helped my mum up when she'd had a fall and kept us informed. They phoned mum if they hadn't seen her that day to check she was alright.
Unfortunately, mum died in March and again my sister and I have been treated with loving kindness.
The apartment is on the market, McCarthy Stone have regular open days for potential owners. I'm not going to lie, the market is slow, but I know without a shadow of a doubt that was the best place for my mum to be. Close to family, in a safe community and fantastic staff looking out for her. Thank you to all the amazing staff at Bilberry Place, Bromsgrove.

Only interested in you if you are a buyer! Re-sales process was very poor! Marketing poor with minimal effort and expensive. In hindsight wished we had gone with a local agent. Once buyer found it took 6 months no chain and cash buyer! No one at MS really interested in progressing matters quickly, staff say it takes 6 months due to being leasehold, with the attitude that’s just how long it takes end of story. MS seemed to forget who the client is, only seemed interested in the buyer. Really very hard work! Took 6 months despite constantly chasing for progress.
Having said this the House Manager was great for residents.

We were concerned to read your comments that you felt unsupported throughout the process and that your interests as the seller were not being prioritised. This was certainly not our intention. Our Resales team works to support both sellers and prospective purchasers throughout the sales journey, with the shared goal of achieving a successful outcome.
We have reviewed the details of your sale with both our Resales and Property Transfer teams. Whilst we recognise that the process may have felt lengthy and frustrating from your perspective, we have not identified any unusual delays in the progression of the transaction, and our records indicate that a buyer was successfully secured and the sale progressed through to completion. We are also not aware that any significant concerns regarding the service provided were raised with the Resales management team during the course of the transaction.

I would like to commend Colleen Jukes
I would like to commend Colleen Jukes, the Manager at Hartwell Court in Eastwood, for her outstanding dedication and commitment to the residents in her care.
My mum has been a resident at Hartwell Court for 18 years, 10 of which have been under Colleen’s management, and I cannot speak highly enough of her.
Colleen genuinely cares about her role and consistently goes above and beyond what is expected of her. She always has a smile on her face, makes time to listen to and discuss any concerns, and is a wonderful advocate for the residents. She is approachable, sociable and genuinely invested in their wellbeing.
Nothing is ever too much trouble for Colleen. Even outside her normal working hours, if there is something she can do to help, she will always do her best to assist.
She is fair, professional, kind and patient, and she never loses sight of the importance of treating people with compassion, dignity and respect.
Colleen is a real asset to Hartwell Court, and I feel it is important that her dedication and contribution are recognised and appreciated. Over the years, she has made a real difference to my mum and to our family, and for that I am truly grateful.
As Colleen approaches her retirement, I would like to thank her sincerely for everything she has done. She deserves to know just how valued she is, and I hope the company recognises the exceptional commitment she has shown over so many years.

We are now approaching the anniversary…
We are now approaching the anniversary of arrival at Weavers House. 13/11/2025. We are very happy with the service/support we have received from Sales Manager Claire Cane who guided us through the complexities of changing our lives as we enter the 'twilight years' Claire helped us choose which Flat (43) and reflecting now, it was thee right choice for us.
House Manager: Byron Hilton was HM for the first few months and we held him in high esteem for helping us settle in to life at WH. His replacement; Jo Peters has taken on the HM mandate perfectly, it cannot be easy to manage the day to day expectations of elderly homeowners with differing opinions. My. wife and I admire her management skills and value her dedicated support.
All in all, the management of our transition to Flat 43 has been excellent and we are very happy.

However, from the moment we first stepped into Anstie Court in Devizes, we knew we were making the right choice for our mother. Seeing her settle in so quickly and happily has brought our family immense peace of mind.
The first thing that strikes you upon entering Anstie Court is the environment itself. The building is immaculately clean, bright, and modern, offering a fresh and uplifting atmosphere that immediately feels like home. It is beautifully designed, balancing comfort with modern convenience. What truly transforms this beautiful building into a community is the people. The residents themselves are incredibly friendly and welcoming. From day one, they greeted my mother with open arms, making her feel included and valued right away.
At the heart of this wonderful community is the House Manager, Carrie. Words cannot fully express how grateful we are for her support. From our very first viewing, Carrie has been an absolute pillar of strength and guidance. She went out of her way to make the entire transition smooth, stress-free, and seamless, ensuring my mother was settled into her new surroundings with the utmost care and dignity.
Carrie is visibly devoted to her job. She constantly goes above and beyond the standard call of duty to ensure the flawless day-to-day running of the building. Despite her incredibly busy schedule managing the property, she always finds time to stop and talk. She doesn't just check in on the residents; she takes the time to truly listen to their families as well. Her warmth, empathy, and approachable nature make everyone feel heard and cared for. It is no surprise that Ito she is absolutely adored by all of the residents at Anstie Court.
Choosing the right place for an elderly parent is a journey filled with anxiety, but our experience here has proven that we made the absolute best choice. Anstie Court provides far more than just a modern apartment; it offers a vibrant, supportive, and loving community. We cannot thank Carrie and the wonderful residents enough for making our mother’s new chapter so incredibly bright.

Our visit to the McCarthy & Stone -The Hailes Haddington
Our visit to the McCarthy & Stone retirement complex at The Hailes Haddington, situated by the local River Tyne, was a very pleasant experience with our sleep over in the Guest Suite located in the main building. This room is beautifully prepared and presented by Sarah and Maureen the two dedicated staff members.
Facilities are ideal with very comfortable sleeping arrangements together with en-suite shower/ toilet facilities. These are suitably supplemented by tea/coffee provision and adequate fridge contents. TV is also provided for news/entertainment. The appropriate fixed heating arrangements can be controlled by occupants when required. Overall it was a most relaxing and enjoyable time - thank you.

Decision for Jacob Place
Decision? Empty house, children and friends gone? Whether alone or a pair there is vulnerability. Explore Jacob Place, where interiors are more akin to high class hotels. Make new friends enjoying daily smiles and laughter . Spoken to more people here in 10 months than in previous house for l5 years. Despite excellent cooking facilities in apartments, meet friends in the Bistro daily for sociability and variety of meals at discount. Meanwhile Deborah, Alexa and her smiling helpful staff ensure safety and although not a “care home”, as one has independence, excellent care is available 24 hours if needed . Right decision!

I moved into Orchid Place Exeter five…
I moved into Orchid Place Exeter five months ago and it is the best move I could have made. During the purchase I was assisted by Kelly who was absolutely amazing, keeping me so well informed at all times. Jane the house manager is so helpful, nothing is too much trouble. I love the fact that I have the privacy of my own front door but able to join in activities if I so require.

I am a new resident in Cranberry Court…
I am a new resident in Cranberry Court Peterborough and I would like to express my thanks to Gwen for making my move so easy with her kindness and knowledge. Moving from Essex I have left friends behind and was so pleased to find very pleasant residents and also activities available, but no pressure to participate if you just want to relax in your comfortable apartment. I moved into my apartment at the end of…
I moved into my apartment at the end of June 2026 in Burscough, I can honestly say it is the best decision I have made and am really happy in my new home .
Sue Clark is the manager here and she is so helpful and welcoming, nothing is to much trouble for her she has made the whole process very easy and is always on hand to help. Karen Flanagan is the sales person on site and was a really big help with the moving process, she kept me updated on a regular basis chasing solicitors, estate agents etc.
