My first air balloon flight, and although it was cancelled on several occasions, when I finally got a good day for ballooning it was well worth the wait ,crew were excellent and informative, be prepared to muck in and help pack the balloon away ,after your flight.

What a wonderful experience for us and our disabled son. Our pilot Peter and his crew ( Keith and Mike) were very professional, understanding and adaptive in finding a safe, workable solution to enable us as parent carers to place our son in the balloon. Flight had a smooth take off and landing with the right mix of informative information, guidance and fun for the whole group, who had mostly not met before. Allowing our son to sit inside the balloon safely at the end as it deflated, showed understanding and compassion by the pilot and crew to my sons needs and likes. Great : flight, Virgin Team and wonderful experience. Everyone should have a Balloon Flight in their life time.

A really great experience. It was my first balloon flight, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but it really couldn't have gone better. The weather was ideal, and the views were great (we took off from Pandy, near Abergavenny). All of the team were very good, and Nobby, the pilot, had decades of experience, which was very reassuring. Even the landing was gentle! We had one cancellation due to poor weather before the successful flight, but that sort of thing is beyond the control of the team. All in all, I'd recommend this to everybody.

Informative and professional all the staff working together to ensure a smooth and enjoyable balloon flight. I have already and will continue to tell friends, colleagues, relations etc of my very enjoyable flight

Absolutely amazing experience with Dave Sutcliffe and the team in York! The weather has to be absolutely perfect for balloon flying so it did take us almost 5 years (approx 10 bookings) to actually get a flight but it was so worth the wait. We want to do all over again!

No restroom facilities at flight departing location. After the flight had to wait a long time for transport back to the departure location.

If I could have given them 0 stars, I would’ve done. 1 seems to be over generous.

I purchased a Virgin hot air balloon experience through WonderDays as a Christmas present for my mum almost three years ago. Since then, I’ve had more cancellations than my fingers will allow me to count, with more than seven being weather-related.

This wasn’t just a random experience I bought. A hot air balloon flight has been a dream of my mum’s for a very long time. I was so excited to give it to her for Christmas and couldn’t wait to see her finally experience something she’d always wanted to do.

Instead, all this experience has brought is disappointment.

Every time we thought, this is it, she’s finally going to get to do it, we’ve ended up facing another cancellation. After nearly three years of this, we’ve now reached the point where we’ve accepted that it’s simply something we’re never going to get to experience living in Scotland.

After more than 24 months and countless cancellations, I contacted Virgin about getting my money back. I was told that I was eligible to submit a refund request because of the number of cancellations and the length of time involved.

Importantly, the person who told me this already knew I’d purchased the experience through WonderDays. They had the opportunity to tell me then that this meant I couldn’t receive a refund, but instead they told me to go ahead and submit the refund request.

So I did.

Only then was I told that I couldn’t have a refund under any circumstances because I’d purchased through WonderDays and the voucher was supposedly non-refundable.

I contacted WonderDays, who explained that they had fulfilled their side because the voucher had been activated and the money had been paid to Virgin - leaving me caught between the two companies.

Virgin sends me to WonderDays. WonderDays sends me back to Virgin.

And the only resolution I’ve been offered is to choose an alternative activity.

But I didn’t pay almost £400 for just any activity. I paid for a hot air balloon experience. If I wanted something else, I would have booked something else in the first place.

I’m currently waiting for Virgin’s response again. I have made it absolutely clear that if this isn’t resolved by Friday, I will be submitting a claim through the Small Claims Court to recover my £400, along with any other losses I am legally entitled to claim.

The worst part is that this was supposed to be a really special Christmas present for my mum. Instead, I’ve watched her get her hopes up and be disappointed time and time again over something that has been a dream of hers for years.

Nearly three years of waiting, and all we have been left with is disappointment.

So unless you’ve got a hell of a lot of time on your hands to fight for your own money when you don’t receive what you paid for - AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.

The whole process was very well organised from start to finish. The booking then details on the day. Kept well informed about how it all would work. I had a beautiful evening and my flight was in my local area so in the skies above places I knew. Just perfect.

Beautiful evening and great location. Views were amazing and so peaceful. Surprised how short the flight was and the experience was all over in just over 2 hours.

After a few cancellations due to the weather, we got up in the air.
And it was definitely worth the wait.

The crew were amazing, from beginning to end, and the whole experience was incredible.

If the thought of an hot air balloon flight has ever crossed your mind, just book it. You’ll definitely not regret it.

Fabulous experience. The best Birthday present.

The Balloon trip was a much anticipated one as it had been cancelled 4 times before this date! We were met in a Tesco car park & taken to the launch site. We helped unfold and inflate the balloon- which was fun & good team building. Then we took off for an hour of silent gliding above Henley. Unfortunately where we landed was in an irate farmer’s field who refused to allow us to disembark. So we had to take off again & find another landing site. The 2nd site was close to the Hellfire Caves in West Wycombe- but the local gamekeeper met us & said we couldn’t land there either!! However, sense prevailed & we disembarked. Where we helped fold up & pack the balloon - and then shared a glass of bubbles before being bused back to our cars. All in all- a very enjoyable & eventful experience. The pilot & ground crew were excellent & calm in the face of such animosity from the farmers.

What a fab afternoon - we had a great time, the flight was just perfect.

Hot air ballooning has always been a bucket list must for my mum and due to cancer she had very little time left to be able to experience it. I booked with Virgin which was very straight forward but due to hospitalisation we were unable to attend the first booking. I contacted customer services in the hope they maybe able to help us find another date and was connected with Lynn. Lynn understanding the situation, importance and urgency was an absolute superstar and helped me rebook a number of times. We finally got to go hot air ballooning last week and it is a memory we will always cherish. Thank you Virgin and thank you Lynn, you really made the whole customer services experience seamless and so this feedback is for you.
