What and awful experience, having to talk to a crime against humanity chat bot. Parcel says it’s arrived there is no parcel! There is a delivery slip saying it’s at the pick point! It’s not at the pick up point! No one can help apart from the boy! I need that paper for a job, now I will be late delivering that job to my client because you have very bad service and use bots. I have to work the weekend except I don’t have what I need to to the job and the help offered has been non existent ! As an autism person I found this especially difficult. Money straight down the drain and a difficult conversation with my client, who I will have the decency to talk to in person. I don’t use a bot. Avoid, especially if you are disabled and need a bit of extra help, you won’t find it here.

Very disappointing experience with Great Art.
My order took a month to arrive, and I had to repeatedly chase them myself just to get updates.
Because of the excessive delay, they offered me a voucher as a goodwill gesture. However, they did not clearly specify that it was only valid for three months. When I later tried to use it and discovered it had expired, I contacted customer service expecting them to simply rectify the issue.
I also called them directly, but the way the situation was handled was incredibly unprofessional and unhelpful. I explained that the voucher had been offered because of their original poor service and that the expiry had not been made clear. I was simply told that the manager would not issue another code.
There was no attempt to find a reasonable solution or acknowledge that their lack of clear communication had contributed to the problem. After already waiting a month for my order and having to chase them repeatedly, this was extremely frustrating.
What disappointed me most was not just the original delay, but the lack of organisation, professionalism and willingness to put things right afterwards.
There are plenty of other art suppliers with much better customer service. Based on my experience, I would rather order from Cass Art, Jackson’s Art Supplies or Hobbycraft.
I will not be ordering from Great Art again and would not recommend them.
I had an issue with my order, but the customer service was excellent. Luke was very quick to respond, helpful, patient, and arranged a replacement for the entire order. The issue was handled very efficiently, and I really appreciate the support. I would definitely order from GreatArt again.

Fantastic in-store, avoid online entirely. Nowhere at checkout does it disclose that online orders ship from a German warehouse, not the UK - the 7-10 day estimate should have been the giveaway, but it isn’t explained anywhere. Delivery is via UPS, who I had to chase repeatedly by phone. This isn’t a one-off: check Trustpilot - 2.2 stars across 300+ reviews, nearly all citing the exact same issue. Great products, genuinely poor and misleading online service. Shop in-store or go elsewhere

You’d think an online company with a rating of 2.3 (at time of writing) would sort themselves out and improve their service…?! This company dupes UK customers into thinking we are dealing with a UK company - and goods are dispatched from the UK - and, if you’re a professional like me who does a lot online ordering, you expect the goods to be dispatched the same day - or the next working day if you’ve missed the day’s deadline. And you expect the goods to be delivered within 2 working days. Six days after placing my order I tracked the package. It is in Germany - and “expected” to be delivered in another three days…!
I just wanted some tape to finish a project - and get onto my next one. Now I am forcibly out of action for at least a week - waiting on this useless company to deliver!
I absolutely hate companies who use deception to get business. Don’t pretend to be a UK company when you’re a German company - delivering from Germany! Trading Standards should prohibit this deception!
If you have products in the UK and some in German, then clearly state on your website where each item is and how long each specific item will take to deliver.
I’ve just ordered the same product (for a lower price) from a UK company who will ship today for delivery tomorrow - because I literally don’t know when “Not-GreatArt” will deliver. Judging by other reviews, it could take much longer than even “4-8 working days” - and this completely defeats the point of ordering from “Not-GreatArt”…!
I suspect most of your customers are professional - and likely to be high spending customers - so you should be providing the best possible service…? IMO you are providing the worst service I have ever experienced…
It takes a lot of effort (and money) to gain a customer, but very little to lose one for ever…

It is just very reassuring to speak directly with a staff member when placing an order when necessary. I have been liaising with Luke Dakers now for some years. He is courteous, efficient and his product knowledge is outstanding. He is a credit to the company. I think Great Art are offering outstanding value for money and the quality of the product is second to none.
AVOID. Do not recommend at all.
I’ve placed an order online on April 14th, promised 7-10days delivery time, but it’s May 20th and guess what? Still didn’t arrive! Apparently issue with changing courier service provider to UPS - wasn’t informed of this going on and that the delivery times might extend. Initial order now retuned (May 19th) to sender due to some more mix ups in UPS(!). New order to arrive in 7-10 days. Again.
Let’s see if it ever will reach me. Customer Service is lovely and replies promptly but honestly, if I ever do receive my order this is the first and last time I’m ordering with this company. And looking at other reviews on Google I’m not the only one with this kind of experience. Wish I checked that before…
Do not recommend online orders.
Avoid.
Ordered 2 Plaster moulds Friday last week, didn’t realise until later that they were coming from Germany, and after reading the reviews on here I was more than slightly worried. I needn’t have been. Both moulds arrived today, both well packaged, one slightly damaged but that’s a transit issue and not the fault of great Art. In summary, a painless experience and faster delivery than some uk deliveries
I should have checked here first. I wish to cancel my order, as is my right, but no email ackowledgement of my request. I've tried phoning and it's permanently engaged, have tried 20 times this morning.
I ordered for the first time from GreatArt, but wished I'd visited here beforehand. They lead you to believe you're ordering from London (the company has London based art stores) - but no, the online orders come from Germany. I'm now 11 days from ordering and the package hasn't yet left Germany! I also found their prices to be a little higher than any of their (UK) based competitors, but they had a couple of items that I couldn't find anywhere else, sadly. So the carbon footprint on this tiny order (3 tubes of paint, 2 pencils and an A4 drawing pad) must be phenomenal! I would never have ordered if I'd know this was to be the case! So, all these negative reviews seem to be justified - IMO. Needless to say this will be THE one and only time I use GreatArt.
Update:
The order did actually arrive 4 days after the date of this review (fair enough)and all items were present and correct.
I still feel that GreatArt SHOULD be more transparent about the fact that orders come from abroad, so that customers can make a better informed decision.
Their customer phone line was permanently engaged, so I had no experience of that aspect of their service (which makes me wonder if this is due to having an excess of needless calls relating to the issues raised in the vast majority of reviews seen here?)
Well they have a good range, if you can get it. A delivery window of "7-10" days is quite tardy to begin with by today's standards. My order didn't arrive and I had no update so I emailed and asked to cancel the order as it was a gift that now wouldn't arrive in time. I received no response. Two days later I get an email- "dear customer", with the invoice and dispatch date (10 days after order placed). Next is an email stating it is awaiting pickup by a courier and will take a few days to reach the UK. Whilst boasting about their London store, goods aren't dispatched from UK so expect to age dramatically whilst waiting. Similarly if you prefer to be a person rather than a "customer", try somewhere else that appreciates the business.
I ordered some india ink on 1-Apr-26. The next day I received an email stateing that it would be dispatched soon and I would be notified when it had been dispatched. It is now 18-Apr-26 and I have not heard anything since. I've read people saying that long delays are due to "brexit". This is nonsense. I bought 2 (car) wheel rim about 18 months ago (well after brexit) from Germany and they arrived at my door (UK) within 7 days.
the company greatart is a farce. if my item doesn't arrive soon I will be cancelling the order as is my right under the distance selling rules and they can "eat" the cost of shipping and restocking.
EDIT:
The item was finally delivered on the 22/4/26. The package had 48hour parcel force sticker on it. Clearly this had been posted on the monday after my 18/4/26 critical review. The company did not respond to any of my emails, they just dispatched after I posted a bad review on trustpilot. When buying from this company just bare in mind that it could be a very long time before you realise your goods have gone missing in the post. Greatart just leaves you hanging and does not respond to your emails. If your time is worth ANYTHING at all then don't waste it by buying from Greatart
Ordered on the 1st of April - now the 17th and still haven't received a tracking number which is functional. Been told that it will be with me soon, but last week I was told that it would be with me today "at the latest". The guy on the phone sounds lovely, but not convinced he's being entirely truthful - I'm not able to track the parcel at all and its been almost 3 weeks since I placed the order. I'd recommend looking elsewhere - as much of the other reviews suggest too.
I bought 5 floater frames, they were very poor quality, and all were damaged and I can't get a refund.

ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS NOT SUITABLE FOR UK AS IT HAS EUROPEAN PLUG.
I’m very annoyed and disappointed that encaustic hotplate I ordered turned up with a 2 pin plug and I am having to return it. Nowhere on the website does it mention it doesn’t come with a 3 pin plug. Not only that, when contacting Customer Services, it is something they are aware of yet refuse to at least warn customer of let alone change.
I know adaptors are available but these aren’t recommended for long term use.
Beware buying any electrical items from this company as it’s an ongoing issue.
I’ve tried to write a review warning of this on their website but it keeps saying ‘select a star ratung’ even though I’ve done so.
Never dealing with this company again.
I want to try and be balanced with this one but my experience wasn’t great. As everyone in the UK says, delivery is slow- please take delivery times as a minimum not a maximum like I did. Also if you order on a phone/tablet you don’t get all the information you would on a laptop so it WAS NOT clear this was being dispatched from Germany. And yes, customer service number is impossible to get a response.
However, they did stock an item I couldn’t find elsewhere in the UK so grateful for that product. To add insult to injury I also had problems with the Parcel Force delivery so spent half a morning trying to sort out.
Will definitely stick to Jackson’s in future - their delivery is second to none and customer service brilliant on the rare occasion of a problem
🇬🇧 buyer - not sure why this always pins as US 🤔
If I could give less than 1 star I would. Last email communication was a week ago saying my parcel was waiting for a courier. The customer 'service' line is permanently engaged.
