A TERRIBLE website and a scam.
A TERRIBLE website, most of the offers are scams where they will ship you no-name products that don’t function at all and then claim they are “name brand”. The shipping times are a lie, the reviews are regularly lies due to amazon letting people change the product AFTER getting a good review so for example I could sell a 10$ bill for 5$ and get 100 good reviews then change the entire product and description to something else, let’s say a laptop, and yet keep those good reviews.
Amazon KNOWS this is happening and even when it’s reported do nothing. I have reported dozens of reviews that actively state they are for entirely different products and types of products such as “GREAT SNOWBOARD! 5/5 stars!” On a lawnmower and they stay up. On top of that their search engine PURPOSEFULLY doesn’t work, they actively removed features to stop you from finding what you want.
You used to be able to use basic features like quotes and minus signs to filter your search but Amazon removed it in hopes of keeping you on the site longer. It’s just a scam, a manipulative, overall harmful scam.
Then there are the “brands” they sell, buy a 2 amp fuse and try ramming 10 amps through it for 1 hour and yet it doesn’t blow! Of course I reported this and guess what, it’s still up there.
Amazon doesn’t CARE if you burn to death due to these unsafe products as long as they collect a few pennies off of your charred corpse. That’s who these people are.
Amazon are also ACTIVELY selling a automatic literbox that has, verifiably by authorites, killed multiple cats in a very very bloody way. This info can be easily found on google, youtube, etc with sources and citations and guess what? Those few pennies are still worth more than your pet’s life to Amazon.
This is Amazon.ca. The cat killing, scamming, manipulating, house burning company, incompetently programmed mess that WILL cause you harm eventually if you use it.

Some (too many) Montreal Amazon Prime delivery carriers ring my bell just to get into my apartment building when they have no delivery for me, This happens over and over, far too often to be accidental or coincidental. We are frequent Prime customers and word of our availability ( we work at home so are here most of the time) has spread to the local Prime crew. Of course, as with most things Amazon, there is no way to reach the local administrative offices to ask that this abuse of a loyal client ends. So we will order more often from other suppliers .

The only reason they got 1 star is because it's mandatory to give them a star so if I was you I would stop using Amazon.ca because they are scammers I had unauthorized transactions on my account I have not used my Amazon account since 2021 and there were orders on my account that were not me and in fact my account was supposed to be closed last year 2023 because I called talked to a lady there and she told me my account would be deleted anyway they sent me a email saying a bunch of BS and they also said I have to talk to my bank to get my money back well I no longer deal with that bank because of it being compromised amd they said they are not giving me my money back because it was Amazon that screwd up and it's there issues so got ahold of Amazon again they got back to me with the exact same email wording everything so I guess I am out almost $100 but what Amazon should be worried about is the person that will be handling this problem for me and I won't mention any names but he is going to be Canada's Next Prime Minister?

I see many unhappy comments here but to be honest, and keep in mind I buy a lot of stuff. Amazon have been the best. Fast delivery on almost all my orders. They even made a mistake with a large item recently and sent the wrong heavy item, and let me keep it. And they also refunded me for the item I did not get. I been buying here for many years and never had a issue that was not resolved. Therefore I gave them a 5.

Similar to other reviews my account was suspended for a long time when I just got here and purchased furnitures like beds and stuff with a uk Visa card. Thank you Amazon I slept on the floor for nearly a week. During which, I was constantly providing proofs of card ownership without clear instruction. And the attitude of the customer service is sh1tty af. When I was back in the uk I have always felt Amazon customer service is the best. They deal with things fast and polite. Here, representatives just hang up on you. Also the delay of delivery never happened in the uk and never this severe.

My Amazon account, which I had been using for about 7 years, including Europe and the UK, was permanently deleted after I made a purchase from Amazon Canada.
They asked me to prove that the credit card was mine. I think I emailed the full documents 8 different times. now amazon employees have all my information and they can do anything they want in my name.
They manage a stupid process that is so far from intelligence that it's ridiculous. There is not even a place to ask questions. I have 3 active orders. It says we detected an anomaly, prove that you are the cardholder, but I don't understand which order they detected abnormal.
They demand a statement of account for the order in which I use my credit card that I live in Europe.
but the credit card address is not Canada. The card doesn't belong to the Canadian bank in the first place. Then tell your user from the very beginning that you cannot use international cards such as apple, Costco, etc. for membership transactions. Why are you locking my account?

As if it is easy to immigrate to another country, I am dealing with the pleasures of these. After Turkey, I shopped in the Netherlands, Amazon.eu sent an e-mail for security, we wanted to make sure you are you. I was satisfied with 1 mail and it was fixed.
When I went to the UK I bought a Razer notebook about £ 7000 for security reasons, we paused, they asked for confirmation, we did it, it was fixed with 1 mail and the product was delivered. I went to Turkey with the same account and there was no problem.
Now I ordered it in Canada for $63, only $63. 80 mail passport copy ID document address
They demanded Canadian bank statements and everything else. We sent them, it wasn't enough, they said send this too, we sent them too.
They asked for a screenshot from my official bank application, I sent it.
They sent an e-mail, we closed your account. I'm a scammer, I'm already dealing with all these things with my children and I'm going to deal with you.
The situation has officially become the laughing stock of my entire environment.
I will take you to court for direct discrimination, humiliating me in the eyes of my children, the psychological violence you have applied, and the collections you made from my credit card despite closing my account.
You have deleted the account due to your incompetent nonsense application, they say we don't have your account when I ask for refunds to credit cards. But I see it on my credit card statement, the payments you stupidly took according to your mind.

Amazon has completely restructured. Calling Amazon can put you on hold for up to 10 minutes. No agent or Manager will offer a refund or discount on ANY item you have not returned. Refunds ARE NOT GUARANTEED BEFORE 30 DAYS. No matter what the portal says. Look at the bbb.org site. They are being sued by both the US and Canada. They have changed my refund date 3 times, my bank is in the process of bouncing back the charge. This is not how you run a business. Amazon used to be decent but now the resell returns, have no service and without your money. Any communication with them will be a repeated script don't bother. Go back to Walmart.

I could give it 0 stars if that was possible. Stole about $200 from me. I spoke with 4 different people, including supervisors that lied to me. Won´t be using Amazon anymore. Nothing justifies losing your energy going after what´s yours. Non-regulated business.
Don't trust Amazon's Postage Guarantee
I ordered a product from a Canadian supplier through Amazon. The order was duplicated and I got 2, and was charged $75 for each. I requested a return authorization, which I got, and mailed the item back. However, the company that shipped the duplicate refused to pay the return postage. I got a Canada Post tracking number with the receipt and used that to verify that the return was delivered. The provider claimed that the item was not returned and refused to refund the purchase. And Amazon, even with the tracking information, claimed that they could not verify delivery, and refused to pay the return postage. It turns out that there is no trace of this company's name in the Ontario registry of companies and yet Amazon lets them onto its site and lies for them when its time to honor the postage guarantee. VISA is working on reversing the purchase cost but I will never get back my $35 postage. And I will never shop on Amazon.ca again.

Let's be fair, on amazon you can find quite a lot of choices for any need, prices are similar or lower to elsewhere except in a few cases but you have to do your homework and compare.
Most of the times you can return your item and get a refund. I'm on prime and I take the full advantage of the free delivery.
Less one star because it is supposed to give access to Prime Video, but there you need to pay again to watch the most interresting things, so I also have to keep my Netflix account.
It would be better if their plan is similar to netflix so that's additional good savings.

Beware! SCAMS YOU OUT OF MONEY! Worst shopping experience. Even worse customer service! Offered a courtesy credit for something that was their fault > I placed an order, using partially bank/credit card, partially courtesy credit (& mayb partially gift card/credit > items never delivered > Amazon claims only option is request refund (say replacement & all else not an option) > Amazon only offers partial refund, claiming courtesy credit items non refundable! 😠 but I never wanted to return/refund! So they only offered a courtesy credit cause it was a lie 🤥 that's why they never bothered shipping the items that I ordered using partially the courtesy credit that's a scam and the supervisor refused to tell me his name all he said was "DJ" he said that he couldn't tell me his last name or a badge number or his supervisor number or reference number he said he would not provide me with anything else just "DJ" every customer service agent ive spoken to has been completely rude & not at all helpful. I recently ordered i rather expensive item and have had many driver smart enough to use intercom at front door . Friday July 26th the driver called me 3-4 times saying he was at intercom , each time i explained by using intercom is only way i can open the door. 10 minutes later the doorbell goes it is a resident saying i have a package an done was opened next door last week! The driver knew i was home didn't even knock !!! Today same phone number on my phone , Rofl same fool , again left outside my door no ringing of the bell , I tried to contact Amazon C service an the bot is most stooopid thing ever , finally got human after try to verify i was disconnected ! I guess Amazon think I have nothing better to do. but next time i think about saving 50 buck on a 800 TV or a 300 dollar ice cream machine I will remember Amazon's No- Customer Service team

I placed an order on July 16th during prime days. The order went to the wrong payment so I promptly cancelled it. Amazon is not supposed to charge your account until all items in the order ship, yet there I was a mere 5 minutes later with $380 debited out of my chequing account, to Amazon. I received an email the same day that confirmed my order had been canceled. The next morning I reached out to customer service to enquire why the money was missing from my account. They claimed it was a hold, which is entirely different than what my bank statement shows, and that it would be reversed in 3-5 business days. On the 22nd it still wasn’t back in my account so I reached out again and was told that they only cancelled the order on the 18th and that I would have to wait 3-5 days from there. I said that’s not correct as you emailed me on the 16th confirming my order had been canceled and again I am not to be charged until the items ship. I explain this is my grocery money for the week as it came from my actual bank account not a credit card, it’s not a “hold” and it’s not “pending” it is simply withdrawn. They tell me they will expedite the refund for the 23rd. 23rd comes and no money returned to me yet. I reach out yet again and they tell me I have to wait a further 5-7 business days and if I don’t like that I can write a complaint. So here it is. Amazon will literally steal money out of your account, and lie to you about returning it.
