The online service has been appalling. Two recent orders had to be returned because the goods were either poor quality or did not fit. On both occasions they returned less money than than had charged for the original order and only sent the correct amount when they were challenged with raising a dispute. A very disreputable return practice. I won’t use them again.

I'm giving a 1 because there is no lower grade that you can give. They are a truly dreadful company with no customer loyalty.

I was a bit scared given the reviews of some users. I bought a Nikon coolshot 40 with a good promotion and it arrived much sooner than I expected.

Ordered three items on two separate gift cards one of which was due to expire within 2 weeks and the second one was a recent gift that was only used for a part payment. One item was then cancelled after ordering with no obvious explanation the refund was then credited to gift card going out of date. When contacted customer service I was purely told it was beyond their control and nothing they could do about it.

DO NOT USE! I have made an order twice and failed to get the product yet they are more than happy keeping my money and not replying! Ordered originally close to one month ago, for present for a close friend, and that has now passed and gone! No one will get back to me or talk to me, all I want is my product that I have paid for! Not even been sent a tracking number! I will make sure all my friends never use AG again!

I purchased a pair of Rife waterproof shoes on 1st November 22 as a spare pair for the winter, when I started to wear them in March 23 they leaked and were replaced without question in April. However when I started to use the replacement pair this winter, they also leaked. I again took them back to the Maidenhead outlet on 27th November (27 days after original warranty expired) who were very helpful and apologetic but told me they were unable to replace as the warranty is only for 12 months from date of purchase and recommended contacting customer services but they refused a replacement pair. Other customers have reported the same issue on reviews posted and it questions whether this item is fit for purpose, not fair wear and tear as suggested by their customer services. I have been a long standing customer and recently purchased both a trolley bag as well as a carry bag from them, but will never shop with them again.
I realise this will be of little concern to AG but I wanted to post this review to hopefully save others from having the same problems. I am considering complaining under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. It is not about the money, but their treatment of customers.
I have previously given very good reviews to American Golf, so very disappointing regarding the shoes.

Hi, I would give no stars but I don’t have an option to. I never make complaints but my experience with American Golf I felt compelled. The service is below a standard I would expect of a company such as this. I purchased sunglasses 2 weeks ago and I received confirmation it was on its way. 5 days later I get an email stating there is a delay. No reason why nor a date to deliver it. I replied and asked for a steer On a delivery date. I can be patient. Over a week later no response. I don’t agree with a policy of no response even if it is to state we do not know. I have requested a full refund. I will never use this shopping company again!

Bought a pair of Stromberg golf shoes. After less than four months, a hole had worn in the heel. Apparently this is normal wear and tear for their golf shoes! Since this is the standard they have set, I won’t be buying equipment from them again. The person in the shop was rather patronising (not the first time I’ve found this with them). When I complained via email they refused to properly engage then just stopped answering. Go for Footjoy, and not with American Golf, because they have standards that mean they exchange/replace without quibble.

FAKE SITE!

Had a fitting session with Richard at American Golf Ingleby Berwick. He was very knowledgeable sorted out the right club for me taking into consideration my age, fitness and ability. A very fruitful and informative session. Would recommend to all levels of golfers.

I ordered some trousers, only to be given a refund the next day without an explanation or email from them. I'm left to presume I won't be receiving my item now.

Well done to your Thurrock store helped me with an out of date gift card and who to contact and also there service today. Thank you also for extending the out of date card.

On 4/7/23 American golf asked my views on their performance i said the service was good but there was a problem with the shirt i had purchased and supplied
a photo of the problem since then i have not had a reply.

Order placed online before 4pm, with the view of next day delivery. No confirmation or ETA given after 24 hours. I called them to ask for an update - she didn't know... went to her manager, not better... order cancelled and Vicky put the phone down. Avoid this place!!!

Ordered a new fairway wood that looked too cheap to be true and as expected the club didn’t arrive and they refunded without notice of cancellation or reason. Can’t be anything else other than misleading advertising. Poor show. Beware.

After purchasing Cobra Custom fit irons at American golf Swansea, only to receive the clubs that were way to heavy for anyone at to play with at D6 swing weight, nothing like i ordered. They were sent back to Cobra to adjust but refused to do anything and were sent back. The assistant manager said there was nothing more that could be done as they were a custom fit order! The clubs were useless for me and it was only until the Store Manager at Swansea stepped in was anyone at American Golf prepared to do anything.
He got them sent away to a Proper Golf Club maker/fitter to adjust them to the correct swing weight, Something Cobra refused to do!! The clubs are now perfect and I wish to tell everyone how good the Store Manager Tim is and how he was the only person in American golf who was prepared to listen and help me as a customer. I would have otherwise have had a £900 set of irons I could not have used. Well done and thank you again.

Be very careful when ordering custom clubs instore, they will over charge you compared to the advertised price on the website and when you query it they will state you need to contact head office. You contact head office and they say you need to speak to the store. Absolutely terrible customer service and boarding on theft. Avoid spending your hard earned money with this chain and go and see your local pro

Worst customer service/ communication from any company I have ever dealt with, ordered some golf balls on Dec 19th and paid for next day delivery as they were a Xmas present. Tracking stated delivery on Dec 21st, never arrived and no further tracking updates. Emailed, messaged and called AG and received automated replys stating 48 to 72hrs for reply. I eventually managed to get thru to customer service phone line I was dealt with by a rude unhelpful young lady and was told I'm not entitled to any refunds not even the next day delivery as they had despatched them next day!!! Correct me if I'm wrong but I paid for next day delivery not Despatch.... No further updates received via email, luckily I paid via PayPal so opened a case with them, 16 days later I received the refund but no communication whatsoever from AG, absolute disgrace I will never shop with them again, unfortunate as I was scheduled for a club fitting but I'll now take my business elsewhere. Avoid at all costs

Terrible customer service… I bought a club based on the advertised picture on their website. Nowhere on any other part of description does it mention any other loft except on the picture. When the club arrived it was incorrect loft. After many calls and emails they reply back to state it was correct club that the photo doesn’t show the actual product you are purchasing!! Like what is that… total false advertising and now it is up to me at my expense to return incorrect club and wait for it to be received and check to get a refund. All the while I am out of pocket for buying a club that was advertised incorrectly - terrible service and no apology actually quite a rude lady called Meghan to deal with 😡. Avoid there are many more reputable golf sales sites to deal with instead
